Contents Exodus 15:1-21
At that time Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the LORD, saying, Blessed be the LORD, for he is exalted and exalted, for he has thrown the horse and its rider into the sea.
The LORD is my strength and song and my salvation; he is my God, and I will praise him; he is the God of my father, and I will exalt him.
The LORD is a mighty man; the LORD is his name.
And he threw Pharaoh's chariot and his army into the sea, and the chief officers were drowned in the Red Sea.
The deep waters covered them, and they sank like a stone into the depths.
Your right hand, O LORD, glorifies you with power; Your right hand, O LORD, crushes the enemy.
With your great majesty you overthrow those who oppose you; your wrath goes forth, and your wrath devours them like straw.
Water accumulates in your nostrils, but waves rise up like hills, and great waters congeal in the midst of the sea.
The enemy said, "I will pursue, overtake, and divide the spoil; I will satisfy my desires through them, I will draw my sword, and my hand will destroy them."
You made the wind, and the sea covered them; they were submerged like lead in the mighty waters.
Who among the gods, O LORD, is like you? Who is like you, glorious in holiness, and majestic to praise, and who does marvelous works?
You stretched out your right hand, and the earth swallowed them up.
By your lovingkindness you lead the people whom you have redeemed; by your strength you bring them into your holy dwelling place.
When the nations heard it, they trembled, and the Philistines were seized with fear.
The chiefs of Edom are astonished, the heroes of Moab are taken with trembling, and all the inhabitants of Canaan are discouraged.
And astonishment and fear came upon them, and because of the greatness of your arm they were silent as a stone; until your people, O LORD, passed through, even the people you bought.
You will lead the people and plant them on the mountain of your inheritance. This is your dwelling place, O LORD. This is the sanctuary that your hands have built.
The LORD reigns forever and ever.
And Pharaoh's horses, chariots, and horsemen went into the sea together, and the LORD returned the sea to flow over them;
Aaron's sister Miriam the prophet took the trumpet in her hand, and all the women followed him, holding the trumpet and dancing.
Miriam answered them, "Praise the Lord, for he is exalted and glorious, for he has thrown the horse and its rider into the sea."
