Voluntary Faith 2/Judges 1:1-36
2. They voluntarily tried to fight without a leader.
Which group has a great influence on the leader.
When the leader leads strongly, the group also moves strongly.
But in the case of the text, there was no leader to lead them strongly.
Looking at verse 1 of the text, the situation of Israel at that time is expressed as follows.
"After Joshua died"
The beginnings of Joshua and Judges are similar.
Both Bibles begin after the death of the leader.
However, there is a big difference between Joshua and Judges.
Contrary to the book of Joshua, where a new leader was chosen, the book of Judges, without a leader, tried to fight amongst themselves.
Proverbs 6:6-8 speaks of ants working hard on their own without a leader.
In the middle of verse 1, the word “inquiry” appears, which clearly shows the hearts of the people of Israel who are willing to fight.
If you look at 1 Chronicles 17, you can read David's heart to build the temple well, and you can read that David's heart at this time was also the heart of his own, voluntarily, just like the heart of the Israelites in the text.
Doing anything voluntarily on your own rather than being forced to do it
it is very important
3. Without a leader, voluntarily, but as a vanguard
tried to fight
The second half of verse 1 says, “Which of us went up first”.
The first thing to go up and fight is to go to the vanguard.
is the attitude
Instead of fighting as a support unit from behind and behind others in the second line, it was an attitude to fight ahead of others in the first line as a vanguard.
Taking the lead in everything requires a lot of sacrifice.
Some people take the lead in bad things, and some take the lead in good things.
That is, there are people who take the lead in the things of the devil, and there are people who take the lead in the things of God.
It is very important what you are leading the way.
What do you want to take the lead in?
It is no longer acceptable to sin, to slander others, and to slander others.
Do not take the lead, but take the lead in prayer, evangelism, and service.
4. They took the vanguard, but all the tribes were ready to take the vanguard.
"Which of us ascended first" means any of the 12 tribes.
If God appoints you, you will see that everyone is ready to stand in the vanguard.
In verse 2, the tribe of Judah was appointed and took the vanguard, but if
Even if the tribes were appointed, all 12 tribes could go to the vanguard like the tribe of Judah.
As proof of this, when the tribe of Judah, who was appointed as a spearhead, proposed to the tribe of Simeon to go together as a spearhead in verse 3, the tribe of Simeon did not delay and went forth.
If the Simeon tribe had been appointed by God, they would have had the heart to go as the vanguard.
Together, these hearts allowed them to cross the Jordan River safely.
allowed them to occupy the land of Canaan.
Like the 12 tribes of Israel who wanted to be at the forefront of all good works.
When we invite you to take the lead, the desire to participate
It's very important to us.
When you say "Let's pray," we pray together, and when we say "Let's evangelize," we participate
If we evangelize and “let’s serve,” we must work together.
On the other hand, you must also have a firm resolve not to participate in foolish and displeasing things such as sinning, slander, and swearing.
