Title: Waiting God / Genesis 35:1-5
Jacob has nowhere to go and nowhere to stay! Our grateful God appeared to Jacob, who had to suffer a miserable death. Everyone, is it the problem that Dinah went out for a walk as Jacob complained? Did your sons escalate the problem? The problem was with Jacob. It was because Counta thought only of Shechem and forgot Bethel, the promise with God. To Jacob, who did not understand, our God did not give up and took the rod of love. God still commands us again.
I do not know your circumstances and circumstances. I do not know the journey I have lived until today. But God knows. God showed you the events and gave you tribulation, but to you who do not understand, He calls your name today and tells you to get up and go up to Bethel. How is your Bethel? My Bethel was the time when the Lord forgave my sins and made me a child, so I was moved by His love and decided to serve only the Lord for the rest of my life. Everyone, in the midst of trials and tribulations, step on your feet, God, if you only solve this case, I will live for the Lord. You have to go back to that time. I can't remember, but God remembers, and I didn't know God, but God knew me and rescued me from the crisis, and God solved the difficult problem. That heart, that heart, that attitude, and that faith is my Bethel.
Jacob immediately obeyed God's command and asked the whole family to go up to Bethel. Why do we have to go up to Bethel? Because the place where Jacob made his vow was Bethel. In Genesis 28, in the dark night in the wilderness of Bethel, where there was no one, trembling with fear and cold, I made a vow to God. How earnest was that vow, would he have poured the bottle of oil he brought with him when he left on the stone pillar? However, that emotion and dedication did not last long. God was with Jacob as he wished. You have blessed your children, your wealth, and finally brought them back to your father's house. But Jacob doesn't keep his promise.
God wants to rise. When you give the fire of tribulation to rise up, do not succumb. God does not give up because He has adopted us as His children at the price of His Son's blood. In Romans 1:24, there is a theory of sin, "God forsaken them". Even if you sin, if you break the Lord's Day, if you steal your tithe, if you don't work for the church of God, if you live your own life without any difficulties, you do not receive God's love. Why does the second son who left his father have to return? Dad is waiting for you with the door open. Why does Jacob have to come back? Because God has been waiting for 30 years. At this very hour, I am commanding you to get up from Shechem. Are you in trouble? I hope you wake up from your deep sleep and find the promise you made with God in the past. God is waiting for you. Amen
