Title: Wake Up, Sleeping Ones

Contents

Bible Text: Ephesians 5:14

Sleep, wake up

Sleeping and dying mean the same thing. Death is a long and long sleep, and sleep is a brief death. If you are in a complete sleep that is not a new sleep, you are unconscious. Such sleep is a sleep resembling death. To sleep like that is said to sleep like a dead person.

Sleep relieves the fatigue of the body and heals the worries and anxieties of the mind. That's why some poets said, "Praise him who made sleep." The Bible says, “...the LORD gives sleep to those he loves” (Psalm 127:2). Without sleep, neither body nor mind can survive. The heart and lungs continue to work, but sleep is where the body and brain rest. But if you sleep, it's no different than being dead.

“..Awake, you who sleep, and rise from the dead” (verse 14).

Awake from the sleep of death

David prayed like this. “Remember me, O LORD my God, and open my eyes, lest I sleep with death, or my enemies say, ‘I have overcome him’” (Psalm 13:34).

Sleep is a state in which your eyes are closed and your mind and body cease to function without consciousness. It is a prayer to illuminate the eyes that can see in the hopeless darkness. “I am afraid that I will sleep with death” David is afraid of the sleep of death, the sleep that leads to death. Darkness calls to sleep. Desperate situations lead to resignation and giving up. They feel their limitations are greater in difficult circumstances. When we do not see hope in the midst of despair, we fall into a deep sleep of death.

David is gripped by the fear that the trials and perils he faces will end his life. Because of that fear, he went to God and prayed. The sleep that leads to death is the sleep of death. Sleeping in the sleep of death leads to death. The sleep of death is the sleep of despair. Close your eyes when you sleep and open them when you wake up. Closing your eyes is the act of giving up everything. To awaken from despair, you must open your eyes.

The comparison is frustrating. The little ones compare themselves to the big ones and despair. Some are small and strong. David was smaller than Goliath. But he defeated Goliath.

With a land area of 1.4 times that of Jeju Island and a population of less than 500,000, Luxembourg's national income is four times that of Korea, and it is considered one of the most prosperous countries in the world. What's the secret? It's small and weak. Luxembourg has been invaded more than 20 times from the gap between the great powers France and Germany. Numerous wars brought the people together and made them have an open mind to accept the good rather than reject the great powers. The people of the country speak fluent English, French and German as their mother tongue. Classes have been conducted in foreign languages since elementary school so that all citizens can become simultaneous interpreters. Reading German newspapers and watching French TV attract multinationals.

Those who compare and feel inferior go into the sleep of death. Comparison is miserable. The little things matter the most. None of those who compared themselves to the giants of Canaan and considered themselves to be locusts entered the Promised Land. If God is with us, they are our food! They took possession of the promised land. “The little one will make a thousand, and the weak will become a mighty nation, and in due time the Lord will do it quickly” (Isaiah 60:22).

Awaken from the sleep of ignorance

God said to Job, “Who is it that darkens the mind with ignorance? Bind your loins like a captain, and answer what I ask you” (Job 38:1-3). To tie up your waist means to listen to ignorance and not be discouraged and to be strong. The waist is the source of a man's strength. The Captain is a warrior who has made great strides in war. David told his son Solomon to work hard to become a general manager.

“From now on, do not walk as the Gentiles do in the vanity of their hearts, for their understanding is darkened, and in their ignorance and hardening of their hearts they have departed from the life of God” (Ephesians 4:17-18). is. Intelligent means that you have a good memory, that you are smart and that you are talented. We need to wake up from ignorance, without ignorance.

The Lord spoke to the church in Laodicea. “You say, ‘I am rich, I have prospered, and need nothing. But I do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked” (Revelation 3:17). Ignorance is the night of the heart. It is a moonless night. The ignorance of the Laodicean church was self-satisfying ignorance.

You are the one who seems to know the best, yet the least known.

A man went out of business and was introduced to a man.

If you meet him, he will teach you how to solve it. The person I met stood in front of a large mirror and pointed to the person reflected in the mirror. “He is the only one who can lift you up.

Don't say there's no hope. Hope is not in the environment. Hope is in me and I am hope. Humans are great. It is the lord of all things. Human beings have built-in DNA that can overcome hardships.

You have to wake up from the sleep of ignorance of ignorance. We need to wake up from misunderstanding, from ignoring ourselves.

“Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, but you were bought with a price; therefore, glorify God with your body” (1 Corinthians 6). :19-20)

What we need to know is that the Holy Spirit dwells within us. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit who raised Christ from the dead. We must awaken from unbelief and ignorance. We must glorify God with our bodies.

Jacob woke up from ignorance and became a successful man. When he woke up in Bethel, he realized, “Awesome place, this is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven” (Genesis 28:17), and he realized that God was with him. “The LORD will be my God, and I will be God’s people, and this stone that I have set up as a pillar shall be God’s house.” I woke up from my ignorance of not seeing God and became a victor.

Wake up from the sleep of failure

There is a saying that failure is the mother of success. Failure makes success. Failures in youth are the foundation of success. No one has failed. Only those who do nothing will not fail. The inventor, Edison, came to success after many failures. But I don't call Edison a loser.

In Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA, there is a museum called New Product Works. It is said that 70,000 failed works are exhibited in the museum. The words of Henry Ford, king of automobiles, are engraved in front of the museum. “Failure is an opportunity to start again smarter.”

One film is obtained after going through many failures before it succeeds and sits on the money cushion. “Wake up from failure” means “learn from failure and realize.” Learn from failure so you can get up again.

The ability to rise again after overcoming failure is called “resilience.” It is the force that hits the floor and rises. I will explain in detail the power to stand up again.

First, emotional control. The ability to remain calm even under pressure and stress. Second, impulse control. It is the perseverance to put up with the desires and impulses of the present in order to be rewarded in the future. In other words, a four-year-old child endures 15 minutes to eat another marshmallow. Third, optimism. It is the ability to believe that a given situation is bad, but will one day get better.

Seventh, it is a challenge. It is an active and active attitude that seeks to extend beyond one's own limits. “Whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do, and can do greater works than me.” It is more important to increase the Resilience Index than it is to increase the IQ.

President George W. Bush, who was president of the United States, ordered food at a restaurant and asked not to include broccoli. After that, rumors spread that "Bush hates broccoli." Poor broccoli farmers have been affected. Farmers gathered and held a countermeasure meeting. There was also the suggestion of a collective protest, but instead of protesting, the letter was sent by trucking the broccoli.

“President, this vegetable is a favorite of the Americans who elected you as president. It is good for the body as it is rich in protein and contains a lot of iron. From now on, please change your eating habits and enjoy eating and staying healthy.” As this was reported in the press, the broccoli was sold like a wing. They had the power to rise again. Build resilience and rise from failure.

“...what I have I give to you, in the name of Jesus of Nazareth, get up and walk!”

A person should have self-esteem and self-confidence. Self-esteem is realizing your own worth. Confidence is believing that you can do something. I have to live with the self-esteem that I am a child of God and the confidence that I can do everything in the one who gives me strength.

People don't know their worth. They do not know who they are, the values and potentials built into them. So sleep of death. I feel discouraged and hopeless that the environment is difficult. Wake up from the sleep of the losers of death.

Sleep, rise from the dead! I am next to God. Man is the lord of all things and the supreme of all creation. The ignorance of self-knowledge in the Giver leads to despair. I hope you wake up from the sleep of ignorance. The present is always dark. When you embrace the light of hope in the darkness, you see a new day. Please wake up from the seat of failure and walk.

The young man Eutychus fell asleep and died, but Paul raised them back to life. Jesus said to the young man who was going to die and was taken to a burial place, “Young man, get up.”
