Title: Walk before the Lord

Contents Hymn 414 “When Your Love Shines”? Chapter 488 “Sunshine Shines on My Soul”

Dear saint! There is a saying that he who eats bread mixed with tears knows life. Unlike in the past, most people are living a comfortable life economically. Even those who ate the hard work of the past sometimes forget the difficulties of the past. Although the memory of suffering itself is not beautiful, the memory of suffering and the salvation and grace of God experienced in the suffering are precious. Furthermore, we can have a feeling of gratitude for God's salvation for our people.

First, the poet gives reasons for his gratitude (Psalm 116:1-11).

Above all, God delivered him from the dead (Psalm 116:1-4). The poet experienced God's grace and benevolent character in his illness (Psalm 116:5-7). The poet finds peace in the goodness of God (Psalm 116:7). This peace is a blessing enjoyed by those who trust in God.

Second, the poet intends to pay his vows (Psalm 116:12-19).

The poet who is grateful for being saved from death takes the cup of salvation (Psalm 116:13) and gives a gift of thanks (Psalm 116:14,18). Expressing gratitude in public is a witness to God's grace. Verse 15 means that the life of all who are faithful to God is precious to God, and therefore his death is precious. The poet confesses that he is a servant of the Lord. It is the Lord who set him free from other bondages (Ps. 116:16).

Dear saint! Our love for God is a sign of our gratitude for the love given to us (1 John 4:19). Also, when we want to make our vows to God, we must remember that we cannot repay all the grace we have been given. God has given us infinite grace, and none of us can repay it all. Therefore, from now on, let's live by confessing our love to God with a heart of deep gratitude for God's love. -Amen-

Our Lord Jesus Christ! I want to thank the Lord for material (Psalm 50:14), praise (Psalm 59:16), and devotion (Psalm 110:3).
