Deuteronomy 30:15-20
15. Behold, I have set before you this day life and blessing and death and evil.
16. I am commanding you today to love the LORD your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, decrees, and ordinances, so that you may live and multiply, and the LORD your God will bless you in the land you are going to enter. Inira
17. But if you turn and do not listen, and are tempted to bow down to other gods and serve them,
18. I declare to you today that you will surely perish, and your days will not be long in the land that you will cross over the Jordan to acquire.
19. I call heaven and earth to testify against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse, choose life so that you and your descendants may live.
20. Love the LORD your God, obey his words, and submit to him. He is your life and your longevity. You will dwell in the land the LORD swore to give to your fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Gal 5:16-26
16. I tell you, walk by the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
17. The lust of the flesh is against the Spirit, and the lust of the Spirit is against the flesh, so that the two oppose each other, so that you cannot do what you want.
18. If you are led by the Holy Spirit, you are not under the law.
19. The works of the flesh are conspicuous: fornication, uncleanness, sensuality,
20. Idolatry, witchcraft, enmity, strife, envy, anger, strife, division, heresy,
21. Envy, drunkenness, licentiousness, and the like. As I warned you before, I warn you that those who do these things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23. Gentleness and self-control; against such things there is no law.
24. Those of Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
25. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26. Do not provoke one another, envying one another, seeking glory in vain.

Text: Deuteronomy 30:15-20, Galatians 5:16-26
The Old Testament text is the end of Moses' farewell sermon. It happened in the land of Moab, east of the Jordan River at the threshold of Canaan. This is the ‘Explanation of the Law’, which is said to be a sermon that was repeated three times while looking back on 40 years of life in the wilderness (Deuteronomy 1:1-30:20). If the Israelites believe and obey the message given to them through 40 years of training in the wilderness, the promise will be fulfilled. If you do not believe and disobey, you cannot escape the judgment that follows. Entering the Promised Land is also important, but what kind of life will you lead in the Promised Land? Because it was also an important task. The kind of life you will experience in the Promised Land depends on your response to the training you received in the wilderness. Believe and obey => receive and enjoy the promised blessings. Because disbelief and disobedience => was the name of judgment. This is the last part of Moses' exhortation and request.
"Purple! I have set before you today life and blessing, death and disaster... Today I call heaven and earth to testify against you. I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse; choose life so that you and your descendants may live, and love the LORD your God and obey his word and obey him. He is your life. You will live long in the land the Lord swore to give to your fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob” (Deuteronomy 31:15-20). As in Eden, God still honors our choices. Of course, God really wants them to enjoy the blessings He has promised to give them. It is an expression of that holy will.
It means ‘Choose life that you and your descendants may live’. It is God's desire.
Grieg The grace of this promise does not end at the present time, but it is a grace that will be inherited by descendants. It is a blessing for the individual, the family to which he belongs, and the descendants to follow. It is the basis on which parents' choices influence their children. If a parent's choice was a curse rather than a blessing, it also affects their children in some way. So responsibility for your choices is also important. If you can get help, then of course you should. In the Old Testament times, help was possible through the law, wisdom, and prophecies. When it comes to the New Testament, it speaks of clearer help. The second person is God, Jesus Christ, and the third person is God, the help of the Holy Spirit (John 14:16,17,26,27).
“Walk by the Spirit. Then you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh...but the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control...with the flesh crucified with its passions and lusts.” Galatians 5:16-24). “Walk in the Spirit!” is not a law. Grace and blessing. This means that the Holy Spirit moves first, anytime, anywhere. As long as you follow the movement, everything is OK.
