Act like children of light! (Eph 5:8-14)
The church likes to use the words evangelism and missions. The resurrected Lord also commanded his disciples to preach the gospel one last time before ascending to heaven. “Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20). What is the first thing that is required in order to give and to teach and observe all that the Lord is part of? Shouldn't we first put into practice the Lord's commands properly? “And he said to them, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15) “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. ” (Acts 1:8)
However, it should not be misunderstood. It's not that we should never hang out with people in a world we don't believe in. Our Christian faith does not require an isolated faith like living in a political prison camp in North Korea. Rather, we, who have received the true light, must live an active life that illuminates the darkness in this world. We must uncover the true nature of darkness. And we must lead those who are imprisoned in darkness into the light. Even to do so, we must not engage in fruitless works of darkness. We must only act like children of light. We must live a life that bears the fruit of light concretely in the field of life. This is the mission of the church. In other words, we must not forget and remember that the first step in the mission of evangelism and mission that the church must bear today is to live a fruitful life by acting like children of light.
Everyone! People lament that the world is dark. People are also lamenting that the world is corrupt. Why? No other reason. This is because the church did not carry out its mission properly. They did not act like children of light. I did not live a life that bears the fruit of light. Rather, he took part in the fruitless work of darkness. Therefore, the church must first repent. We must repent thoroughly and receive the help of the Holy Spirit to live a life that bears the fruit of light. I sincerely pray that you can become all of you who are truly blessed, who please the Lord of salvation by preaching the gospel of the life of Christ through a concretely fruitful life!
