Title: Walking Tree / Mark 8:22-25

Jesus healed many sick people, but in many ways. In most cases, Jesus healed the sick immediately, but in today's text, the blind healed step by step. Why did Jesus, who immediately healed even more serious diseases, use gradual healing? When you think of the eye as a symbol of understanding, you can say that human understanding is gradual. It takes a long time to understand, and our dark souls are gradually brightened by the light of the Holy Spirit sent by our Lord.

I. There are many souls who have received the Holy Spirit, but only half have been revealed.

Even though they have come to the church, there are people who, like the spiritual blind, do not even discern the truth. They are not possessed by demons, they do not harm others, they are honest and kind, they win the sympathy of others, they are respected and loved. They do not persecute or rebuke the weak, nor do they hear the Gospel. But I don't quite understand it. They pray and worship, and although they have all the external conditions, they are still blind. There are spiritually blind people who cannot discern things and cannot see God.

II. Let's see how our Lord heals

The first friends brought the blind man to the Lord (22). The blind man needed the help of believers. Second, Jesus took his hand (23). You have given me the wonderful grace of a personal encounter with Jesus. He took the hand of the third blind man and went to a quiet place (23). He is not called out of the crowd, but heals and saves in an intimate relationship. He healed you in a superficial way by spitting out the fourth time (23). It reminds us of salvation through the cross, which causes disgust, through the Lord who was despised and despised. Fifth, he laid his hands on him. The laying on of hands is not a requirement for miracles, and touching the body is a sign of the Lord's affection.

III. stage of hope

When asked what he could see, he said, "I see people. I see things like trees walking by" (24). Because there was only Jesus there, he saw Jesus as a walking tree. This man's eyesight was dim, and he exaggerated in the midst of it. But there is hope when you think that you are not completely blind and that you can see Jesus Christ. When the Lord laid his hands on him again, he saw everything. Today, there are people who do not see Jesus as the Messiah, but as a revolutionary, liberation activist, and philanthropist. Without God's grace, we cannot see completely. You must be able to see the Lord fully.

closing words.

Jesus sent the awakened man to his home. How did you get saved without going into the village and cheering? It is to quietly think about why you were saved. We need not only to be in Jesus, but to understand and know him clearly. The old man does not develop into the new man. Becoming a new person Salvation belongs to the Lord. I hope that you will become believers who fully see the Lord and illuminate the world with the light of the Holy Spirit.
