Title: Warning against apostates/Hebrews 6:4-8

Content Warning against apostates/Hebrews 6:4-8

Proposition: An immature faith can become an apostate and perish.

Introduction: 1. You must grow right in the Word.

2. Immature faith has the potential to be corrupted (1 Corinthians 4:14).

1. Can a person who is born again fall? (Verses 4-5)

A. Those who are born again cannot fall (John 6:37,39, 10:28).

1. The Bible makes it clear that those who are born again cannot fall.

2. Those who are born again are protected by God. The evil one cannot even touch.

B. You are falling because you have not been born again.

1. Received the light once - It is speaking of receiving the light of the gospel

(It is knowledgeable.)

2. Taste the gift of heaven - Taste the experience of eternal life.

It means to taste only the taste without having an authentic experience

3. Be a partaker of the Holy Spirit - You also experience the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

(Gift experience is not salvation - tongues, healing, visions, etc.)

4. Taste the good word of God and the power of the future life - and receive grace through the word.

C. A taste of faith alone is not a sure rebirth.

1. A taste of faith can be said to be an immature faith.

2. It is exhorted to go to perfection (verse 2).

3. At what stage is my faith now?

2. Can a person who has fallen once have repented again?

A. The Fall means apostasy.

1. Mistakes and sins can be forgiven, but betraying the truth cannot be forgiven like the sin of rebellion against the Holy Spirit.

2. Apostasy to the gospel is like crucifying Christ again.

B. Those who do not have a certain growth in faith are prone to heresy.

1. Those who are not sure of the gospel are easily shaken.

2. False teachings (heretics) are more terrifying than criminals (2 John 1:10-12)

C. In order to have a strong faith, you must have mature faith.

1. First, have a certain experience of being born again.

2. We must study the Word deeply and establish a system of faith.

Conclusion: A born-again believer cannot lose salvation and cannot fall. It is dangerous to have an immature faith that is not born again and only tastes. First, we must check whether we have been born again and stand on firm faith.
