Title: Warning for the future/21:1-17

Contents

Bible Reading: 21:1-17

Subject: Warning for the future

1-9 are about the fall of Babylon. - What world history shows us is the

Not one country lasts forever. There are times when the impregnable fortress falls, and the majesty of the throne that ruled the world falls. Even though Babylon was a very powerful nation, it fell as Isaiah prophesied, and so did the Medes, Persia, Greece, and Rome. All nations will prosper. When there is a time, there is a time to fall, and when there is a time to grow, there is a time to decline.

Except for the kingdom of the Lord, all nations are bound to rise and fall.

1. Even if Babylon was a powerful nation, it was inevitable that a stronger nation would rise up and attack it and it would be destroyed. If we Christians fall into pride or carelessness, the devil will take advantage of the opportunity and suffer a lot.

When we think we are standing, we should be careful not to fall, be wary and humble.

2. Babylon was engrossed in the banquet, unaware that destruction was imminent. The people of the world love the world and live unaware that it will perish. However, Christians must be careful not to love this world. Only those who prepare and wait when the day suddenly arrives will not be put to shame.

Verses 3.11-17 are a warning about the future. - What is more important than the abundance of the present is the hope for the future. Even if in reality everything is abundant and plentiful and there is nothing lacking, if there is no hope for the future, there are many things that are lacking in reality, and many things are lacking even though it is difficult and difficult. . A strong hope gives courage to challenge realistic difficulties, but a severance of hope makes courage and fighting spirit lethargic.

The text warns against Edom and the Arabian refugees and the fading glory of Kedar.

4. To say that the future is dark means that there is no hope.

Those who commit sin and those who sow evil have a dark future.

Thank God for giving us a solid hope. For all who are outside of Christ, the future is bleak. All that awaits them is despair.

All the glory of this world is destined to fade away. but only those who do the will of the Lord

live forever.

5. Determination and prayer

1) Let us live with faith in the hope of tomorrow rather than the expectation of today.

2) Pray for the faithfulness to the life of faith and office of the officers.
