Title: We Are All Priests
“We Are All Priests”
--1 Peter 2:1-5
One.
The Catholic Church teaches that only bishops and priests are priests, whereas the Protestant Church teaches that all believers are priests. This is the ‘doctrine of priesthood of all believers’. The words of 1 Peter that we read today tell us that the ‘doctrine of the priesthood of all men’ of Protestantism is biblical truth. Verse 5 says: “You become a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” In verse 9, believers are called “royal priests.” The book of Revelation has the same meaning. “Jesus Christ loves us, has freed us from our sins by his blood, and has made us a nation to be priests to God his Father” (1:5-6).

May you be rooted and grounded in love, so that with all the saints you may come to realize the breadth and length and height and depth of Christ's love, and to come to know the love of Christ that transcends knowledge. So may you be filled with all the fullness of God. (3:14-19).
If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord, no matter what your position may be, your inner man must constantly grow by His power. This is a privilege before it is a duty. Growing up like that, I benefit myself first. You will be freed from sin, rejoice in the truth, and enjoy true happiness. Only then can we take on the role of priests for this world.
