Title: We were made for a mission

Contents

The fifth purpose of life is the purpose that we can do only on this earth. We must not only serve the saints, but also evangelize those who do not believe. Jesus said, “As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you (John 20:21). Paul said that my course and the mission I received from the Lord Jesus were to testify of the gospel of God's grace. Our mission is to witness the gospel. How do I complete this mission?

1. To complete the mission God has given you, you must share the gospel with those around you.

God wants to use us. We can be enough of God's witnesses by telling you what God has done in your life. In the text, Jesus wanted the gospel to begin from Jerusalem. This is the starting point. In Luke 8, there was a man whom Jesus healed. After this man was healed, he wanted to go with Jesus. But Jesus told you to go home and tell each and every one of how God has done great things for you. From where do we witness the gospel? right from home. My family, my neighbors, and the community I belong to. “First, preach the gospel to your family and close neighbors in your Jerusalem.”

You have accepted Jesus and your heart is still beating even now because God wants to share the gospel through us with people who have not yet heard of it. If someone had not shared the gospel with you, you could not become a child of God. The same is true. Now God wants you to share the gospel. If we want to receive God's blessings in our lives, we must also value what God values most. People are the things that God values more than anything else.

2. God's mission must go beyond the periphery.

Love invites us to reach out to people of different backgrounds, different educations, different languages, and different economies, when we are resting in our comfort zone. As you know, our missionary calling is to have eternal results. It is a matter of heaven or hell. You must be prepared to take any risk to spread the gospel message. When I get help and get treatment, I'm definitely going to go out into the streets and scream. If I receive treatment on my own and keep my mouth shut and keep it a secret, that is a sin. But more importantly, we all have eternal life. This eternal life is what we have been given. It is thanks to someone who valued us so much and shared the gospel with us. Therefore, you also have good reason to share this gospel with others.

One day we will stand before God and our lives will be judged one by one. God will judge whether we were really trying to learn to love, or if we only spoke love with our mouths. Jesus says he will divide the people into two groups: sheep and goats. And to a crowd, Jesus would say: “I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to see me.” Jesus said, As you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.

3. We must have the whole world in mind.

“He also said, ‘Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature’ (Mark 16:15). This calls for a new stage in our spiritual maturity. Everyone needs Jesus. “Whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and the gospel will save it.” This is the mission we must do. Fully fulfilling our mission is the secret to a full life.

Will anyone go to heaven because of you? When you go to heaven, is there anyone who will come to you and say thank you and thank you so much for sharing the gospel with you? You know that this gospel is not to be kept a secret. Acts 13:36 “David was serving the will of God in those days, and fell asleep, and was buried with his fathers and suffered corruption.” Living according to God's will is our prayer. You can express your mission in four responses. Like Moses, you can say, “Is that what you mean?” Like Jonah, you can say, “I hate it.” You can also say, like Habakkuk, “Why me?” Or, like Isaiah, you can say, “Send me.” I hope that you will become a saint who fulfills God's mission.
