Title: Weak Leader Moses/Numbers 11:4-15
The book of Numbers in the Old Testament was written to give us encouragement and warning through precept. In the book of Numbers, there is a lot of information about Moses, and you can know the will of the Lord through the life of Moses. Moses is the great leader of Israel. But he also had hardships and hardships. Such leadership of Moses has several characteristics.
I. Leader Moses had extreme tension and pressure.
The Israelites complained, quarreled, and complained about two problems. The first was that life was so hard and difficult. But they were slaves for 400 years. Compared to then, there is no reason to complain now. But they resented and quarreled. Second, they quarreled and complained about what they didn't have. According to psychologists, there are four fundamental human problems. These are self-obsession, anger, guilt, and fear. As a leader, Moses was gripped with tension and pressure over these issues.
II. Leader Moses maximized the small pain.
He went to God and asked, 'How can I lead this people?' But God did not tell Moses to lead the people. As such, despair tends to maximize suffering. God made three promises to His people.
① As an eagle carries its young, God has promised that I will lead my people (Ex 19:4, Deuteronomy 32:11)
② He said that as a father carries his son, so I will carry my people in the wilderness (Deuteronomy 1:31).
③ He said that I will carry him as a shepherd carries his sheep. (Isaiah 40:11)
Weak Moses had to believe these things. But before he believed, he began to despair, so he had no choice but to suffer.
Ⅲ. The leader Moses had forgotten the abundant resources God had given him.
I did not believe in the God who gave me manna, and when I said that he also gave me meat, I had doubts. But God's hand is never short, and He is the one who supplies with His hand of power. God delivered Israel with the hand of power and led them to Canaan with the hand of power, and God gave Moses strength not only with the hand of power but also with the word of power (verse 23).
*Conclusions are given.
The world is infested with evil and its hands are merciless. But in such a harsh world, I hope in the name of the Lord that you will be able to move forward without being shaken, like Moses, the weak leader, and always remember and believe in God's guidance, supply, salvation, and grace.
