Title: What Are You Running For?

What are you running for?
(2 Samuel 18:19-27)
Absalom revolted against his father, King David. King David told the general Joab, the commander of the army, to mobilize troops to calm the rebels of Absalom, but Absalom died along with the rebels. Ahimahas and Kushhain each ran and delivered this news to the king. King David wept loudly when he heard the news.
Here we can think of several types of running.
1. Cushian running
At the command of General Joab, the Cushites rushed to deliver Absalom's war message to King David. If the news of the king's son was dead, it was a sad news that he couldn't even tell the material quickly, even while running away. It was a run with subtle anticipation.
Guys, is there anyone like this among us? A Cushian who runs and runs and delivers tragic news that is not good enough as if it were good news. Negative conversations, passive, cynical, and critical conversations are all part of the Cushian character.
2. The Run of Ahimaas
Zadok's son Ahimaaz asked General Joab that he would run and tell King David this news, but was rejected the first time, and when he begged and received permission, he ran into the field and reached the king ahead of the Cushites, but this will not be rewarded. He was the kind of person who, after realizing Joab's words, didn't report directly to the king, waited for a while, and then had the Cushite report.
Are you among us who run like Ahimaas? A person who realizes and repents while running through the field of life; a person who changes his mind and forgives after going to avenge himself I hope that we too will run the run of Ahamaas, a person who knows and realizes later and turns.
3. Our Run
We are people who are running through the fields of history right now. But everyone! What are you running for? Which side are you on, body or soul? Aren't you busy with a slice of bread, a sip of water, a penny of money, and a moment of pleasure?
If you look at Dan 12:4, they say that they come and go quickly when the end times come, but Manmin runs, so we have to run. Now that the last days have come, we, the saints, must also run busily. ① We must run in order to deliver good words. Isaiah 52:7 speaks of evangelism. ② We must run to do good - in order for the world to be evangelized before the Second Coming of the Lord.
