What God Loves (Jon 4:1-11)
33 miners who were buried 700 meters below the San Jose mine in Chile were rescued.
"Chile's greatest treasure is not copper, but its miners," the Chilean president said.
The cost of the rescue operation was at least 24.7 billion won, or about 750 million won per person.
The lesson to be learned from this rescue operation is the nobleness of life.
If so, how noble would it be to evangelize the soul and save it forever?
The book of Jonah is the story of God's mission to the Gentiles in the Old Testament.
Jonah became angry with God, who had saved the people of Nineveh, and prayed for him to be killed.
This is because Jonah had no interest in what God's will was for mankind's history to proceed.
He confessed with his mouth that God is gracious and merciful and wants to save, but the real life was different.
Those who realize the work of God pay attention to the will of God and live a God-centered life.
Those who do not understand the work of God pay attention to their own will and live a self-centered life.
What do you pray for?
It is the person's real life and faith that earnestly desires and prays.
Jesus taught us to pray for God's will to be done on this earth.
Jesus prayed for God's will to be done and sacrificed himself on the cross.
Matthew 6:33, “Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
We must pray for everything, but the first thing we need to pray for is to pray for the kingdom of God to be established.
What do you rejoice in?
Jonah rejoiced over the gourd vine.
However, God was pleased that 600,000 people in Nineveh were saved by repenting and turning from their sins.
The real joy is that a sinner like me is saved by God's grace.
Jesus said in Luke 10:20, “Rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
Also, by the grace of God, others are saved.
Jesus used the parable of the sheep to find a lost sheep.
He said he was more pleased than the ninety-nine sheep in the enclosure.
The joy of the saved saints is different from the joy of the world.
What do you cherish?
Jonah spared the mayfly gourd that gave shade to his hair.
They were outraged that the people of Nineveh had repented and were saved.
But God spared the souls of more than 600,000 people.
Mark 8:36, “For what profit does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul?”
It is the most foolish of life to lose precious souls for such things as ephemera.
Although the world is evil, God loves the soul and sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, to save us.
Jesus became the sacrifice on the cross to save sinners.
Jesus called his disciples and trained them as workers to save people.
And in his final will, he commanded me to be my witnesses to the ends of the earth.
God's work of salvation is still in progress.
Then, what is the purpose of establishing our church in this area and giving us offices?
What is the will of God who saved us first and led us to this point?
Isn't it about going out into the world and sharing the gospel to save many souls?
So now, first of all, what am I praying for, and what do I rejoice in?
What are you truly loving?
