Bible: 1 Timothy 5:3-10 Title: Filial piety that God desires
Every year, on Mother's Day, I preached the Bible on filial piety.
I prepared a sermon from the Bible that gave Timothy a lesson about widows.
Originally, this Bible verse was about the condition of a widowed believer that the church should take care of in old age.
This is a lesson about God, and in the words of the Bible, God receives filial piety.
It contains information about parents who can receive God's reward.
In other words, God offered filial piety, which is the proper way of man, as a fragrant sacrifice.
It means that you are acceptable, and that you reward your parents for doing good deeds.
1. Filial deeds received by God
A true widow does not have a family to support, and she always prays with her hope in God.
not fond of lustful pleasures, without reproach,
She was the wife of a husband over the age of 60 and had evidence of good deeds.
It refers to the widow. And “respect” is tima (τ?μα),
It is a generic term for fulfilling all responsibilities to show love and respect.
Therefore, to honor the true widow is a virtue that goes beyond obedience or reverence.
If not only a true widow, but any widow has children or grandchildren,
Not the church, but their descendants first to practice filial piety.
You have to learn to give back to your parents.
All descendants regard their parents in both material and spiritual ways.
And we have a duty and responsibility to show respect from the religious point of view.
God accepts the filial deeds we ought to do as a fragrant offering.
Among the Ten Commandments given by God, it is the first commandment to be kept among humans.
The commandment with blessings is to honor your parents.
If so, filial piety is what pleases God.
It can be said that it is the first offering.
But the sad thing is that God's command to be respectful of parents is natural and
First of all, the truth is that not many children show respect for their parents.
Of course, there may be many reasons for not showing disrespect.
Some reasons for not being respectful may well be understandable.
Even if they show a little favor to their children, they are very upset if they do not know,
Parents who have given birth to ten children who are unable to urinate, even from a single child.
I do not know why you do not know the feeling of not being served.
Of course, there may be reasons for not showing respect for your parents.
But it will all be excuses. “The Bible says, ‘Honor your father and mother,’
There is no such thing as a parent.” Then, the spiritually dead,
Those who believe in the Lord, whether in filial deeds or in respect,
There should be no reproach. Verse 8 says, “If anyone does not take care of his relatives, especially his family, he has betrayed the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” Clearly, there is no clue attached to this solemn statement that adoptive parents or stepchildren are an exception. Christianity does not neglect or cut off the bond of blood, relatives, or family, but rather sublimate it to the love of the Lord.
2. Parents Receiving God's Reward
In the early church, there were no descendants, so the church of God put it on the list.
Here is a description of the true widow to be cared for.
must be at least 60 years old, be the wife of one husband, raise children,
Hospitality to strangers, washing the feet of saints, helping those in affliction, etc.
She was called a widow after every good work.
These words are the parents' qualifications to receive God's reward, and the children's
They deserve respect from the heart.
Everyone! Because our children are God's commands, it is not reluctant filial piety,
I hope you can do filial piety with a happy and joyful heart.
To this end, our parents must raise their children through prayer and the Word,
Also, we must set an example of good deeds of faith to our growing children.
It is often said that there were great mothers of faith behind the great workers of God.
You can discover the facts. For example, Gregory of Nazianzum had his mother
There was Nona, and Chrysostom had Arechusa of Antioch his mother,
Augustine had his mother Monica, and Johann Wesley
His mother, Susanna, was there. Timothy had his mother Eunice.
Moses had his mother, Jochebed.
conclude the word.
As long as all children have a life that will not change if given under the world,
There is no greater gift from God than parents, who are God's means of giving life.
So that we, who were just lumps of blood that could not even urinate and urinate, grow like this.
Than the love of parents who spared no effort and effort
There is no greater love in this world.
Even if there were complaints and complaints about the attitude of our parents toward us,
Nothing compares to that great and steadfast love for us.
By all means, to parents who have few opportunities to live in this world,
Respect in material, spiritual, and spiritual aspects
I earnestly pray that you will become a fragrant sacrifice to God.
