What I Have/Acts 3:1-10
The crippled man in this text has never walked in 40 years since he was born, so he needed help from others to move. This man probably had never glorified God. All he was saying was the sound of mournful begging, "Say a penny! Have pity on me!" He was at the beautiful gate of the temple, but he did not even think of entering the temple. Then he entered the temple and a miracle occurred, praising God. He had been sitting and begging for a while, and the beggar, who was only looking at the ground, jumped and jumped into the temple of God and changed into a beautiful figure of a worshiper giving praise and glory to God.
1. Many people are spiritually crippled and unable to get up on their own.
When we think of this lame man here, we can also see that this lame man symbolically represents the face of all mankind who need the Gospel today. This crippled man was near the temple, but every day he was begging outside the temple gate like a squirrel wheel. All of this man's life was to live mourningly begging for just one meal. In a way, isn't it something like a fallen leaf and a lump of discarded dirt? He was the closest person to the temple, but he could not live in the temple.
I don't know how many people today are deceived by vain religions and philosophies and are entangled in the law. I don't know how many people give up and live a life without satisfaction every day. Many people are depressed spiritually because they are weighed down by the environment, poverty, and disease. There are many people who give up on life without even thinking about it happening. Even though they have a family name, there are many couples who live a crippled life even at home. Also, many young people are unable to get up in front of the computer from their spiritual cripple. Many people are unable to get up in front of alcohol and drugs. Many people are living a passive life in which they cannot get up in the face of sexual immorality and evil acts and cannot escape. They have no power to stand up on their own.
The crippled man looked at the people who went to worship in the temple and said, 'I wish I had lived my life like that.' It may have happened for a moment, but I couldn't do it on my own. But here is a possibility when Christ intervenes. An abandoned life, a cursed and miserable life, a life that only looked at this earth, and an abandoned life that people stared at has a possibility when Christ comes.
As Peter and John were going up to the temple to pray, they saw this lame man. Those who were filled with the Holy Spirit would have had pity on them. Peter and John were silent, but through their hearts, Peter went first and said to this lame man, "Pay attention to us." I looked to see what the crippled man would give me. Peter must have been a little disappointed when he said, "Silver and gold I have none." Then Peter quickly said, "What I have, I give you; in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk." And a miracle happened when he took the lame man's hand and got him up. Impossible has gone away and has become possible. The laws of nature have receded and the laws of the supernatural have taken over. As the mysterious power of God reigned, a miracle occurred, suddenly a crippled man stood up and walked and ran.
2. Jesus Christ The name alone can make you crippled.
When Peter gave something, did this miracle happen? Not silver and gold. It is not any science, philosophy or religion of the world. Not any of Peter's powers. It was only in the name of Jesus Christ. God always works through his name. The name of God is the authority and honor of God and God Himself. That is why believers call on the name of God, command, pray, and proclaim.
In the Old Testament, the name of God is Yahweh ( ). In Old Testament times, no one could call this name. However, in the New Testament, the name of Jehovah was changed to Jesus. In John 17:11, God made all the promises of God's name and all the blessings and powers in that name to be in the name of Jesus.
Before his ascension, Jesus gave us the authority to use that name. The name of Jesus is said to be available to all who believe in Jesus. Since using the name of Jesus, we have been able to receive forgiveness of sins, receive eternal life, receive healing, receive power in that name, and live a life of victory in that name.
When we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, God hears and answers. God is very interested in those who call on the name of Jesus. God is not very interested in our knowledge, money, honor, or power. God's concern is only in the name of Jesus. The greatest treasure, power, and blessing that Jesus left for us, that is the name of Jesus. So the name we should call on forever, Jesus! The name we will remember forever is Jesus Christ! The name of which we should be proud forever, Jesus Christ! The name we will exalt forever, Jesus Christ! The Holy Spirit works according to his name.
So do not hesitate to give it that name. Don't be shy. What's the best gift to be ashamed of? If you have the name of Jesus Christ, share the name of Jesus. There is nothing to be ashamed of not having money, and nothing to be ashamed of not having knowledge. It is a shame that we cannot give the name of Jesus because we do not have faith. The problem is that I am still spiritually poor without knowing that I have the name of Jesus. The problem is that you have a disease that you can't do. Anyone who has this great name and doesn't know how to use it is like someone who has a blank check and doesn't use it.
I said that I could use that honorable name. Who can use the president's name? When he signs his autograph, 600,000 troops move and many prosecutors and police officers move. In some cases, tens of trillions of dollars can be stolen. But the power of the world is only 5 years. But the name of Jesus is ours forever and can be used forever. There is no need for me and you who have that name to live with embarrassment. May you be bold, take pride in your name, and have faith in the authority of that name.
3. The motive that caused the cripple was when he went to pray.
Where did Peter's faith, who came to use the name of Jesus, come from? Where did this ability come from? When Peter went to pray, he became a tool to be used with this power. It can be said that prayer was the driving force and the fuse. While Peter and John were going to pray during the prayer time, they became valuable tools before God.
Everyone! I hope you pray. Just a few dozen days ago, Peter had denied the Lord. But after praying, things changed. Prayer changes me. Prayer is what makes me valuable and makes me powerful. When you pray, you will win the spiritual warfare. When Moses raised his hands in prayer, Israel destroyed the Amalekites. When Esther prayed, Haman fell and the Israelites lived.
This surprise, this miracle, made the absolutely impossible possible. It was through the giving of the name of Jesus that the people of this earth, those in despair, were transformed into people in heaven, into those who exalt and praise the eternal Lord, into a new life that rejoices and rejoices, and into those who influence countless others. because of. Those to whom the name was given were those who prayed. agreed with each other. Let's pray together with one another's hearts. Let's come together and worship God. I believe that it will be used as a miracle tool and as a channel of God's blessing.
