Title: What is Living / Matthew 4:1-4

He told a story he cared about.

Thinking that it is not easy for a person to live, he felt compassion. The haves and the have-nots, the educated and the uneducated, the sick and the healthy, all face difficult conditions individually. That's life.

Even though it has been a short week, there are probably many of you who have lived with a heart that is weary to the point of exhaustion. Because living is by no means easy by itself.

The figure of the Lord appearing in the text is also a very difficult figure. He was hungry after fasting for 40 days and nights. It is by no means easy for a physical Lord to endure basic needs.

When I was a seminary student, I decided to try fasting for a long time, and seeing the weight on my chest and calves drop rapidly. Our Lord would prefer working hard with a healthy body rather than dying while fasting.

Satan came to test the Lord after he hunger for 40 days and nights.

“If thou shalt command any of the Son of God to turn these stones into bread” (verse 3)

How is Satan approaching the Lord now? It's about getting what you need when you need it.

In the present situation of Jesus, you can turn stones into bread and eat them. Because the period of fasting has already ended, the Lord has enough power to turn stones into bread, and eating stones by turning them into bread is neither against God's will nor a sin. But Jesus resolutely refuses, saying, [Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God] (v. 4).

Here we should note the phrase [to live], that is, to live. It seems to live by bread alone, but in reality it is not. It is said that a person [living] must have the form of living according to the word of God to live. This is a living life, a living life.

In today's text, the Lord is reminding us, "What is life, and what do people live by?"

First, to live means to be able to discern the times.

When it rains heavily, when you go out, all the stars and stars are washed away by the strong waves that seem to overflow the riverbank. No matter how large a log is, it is lifeless that throws itself into the current and floats away helplessly. But living fish, no matter how strong the wave, rip through it and go back. Some of them even take advantage of the water's rise and go up the waterfall.

Yes. What does it mean to live?

A life that entrusts oneself to the flowing water is not easy and fun to live, but a life that is difficult and difficult, but it is a life that is intrusive, is a life of life. But, folks, in order to go back, you need to be able to discern time.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 says [God made all things, and made them beautiful in their seasons], and Ecclesiastes 3:2-4 says, “A time to be born and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to uproot; a time to kill and a time to heal. A time to tear down and a time to build up, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance.”

To live requires the wisdom of knowing the time and living life. But this time, God has ordained it. Therefore, believers, I hope that the life of following God's will may seem difficult and difficult, but believe that it is a happy and beautiful life.

In Luke 7:31-32, Jesus said to those who could not discern the time of the day, “To what shall the people of this generation be compared? It is as if they played the flute, but you did not dance; we wept, and you did not weep.”

Guys, aren't we like this now?

God says it's time to weep, and we say, "Everyone else is dancing, so why do we have to cry? It's such a good time." Says. Even though he said it is time for everyone to repent, "Why do I have to mention my dirty sins when everyone else is living like this, and yet they are living well without any problems?" asks.

They say it is time to stop turning around, but our answer is the same. "God, everyone is going this way? We're going well now, so why are you saying we need to turn around?" But guys, think of the Lord. The Lord was hungry, but he did not eat. Because even if you die of hunger, there are times when you must never eat and there are times when you must eat.

He didn't even try without thinking that he had the ability to do it. If it were us, if I had the ability to turn stones into bread, I would have turned stones into bread to show off myself even if I didn't really need it. But the Lord didn't do it when he could, but he never had to. At that time, the situation had not eaten anything for 40 days, and he could not see anything but food. However, the Lord knew that it was the time not to eat, and kept it even though it was a situation that looked like a piece of bread. However, the fact that Adam and Eve, the first humans, ate the forbidden fruit even though they were rich enough to fill their stomachs with other fruits, reminds us of many things.

Everyone, there are times when you don't have to be swayed even if you look good. There are times when you have to say no, even when it seems absolutely necessary. No matter how tired your body is, there are times when you need to be awake. A life that discerns time and goes back, this is the Christian, and this is the life.

Second, to live is to remember the Word in any situation.

There are times when there is a dead-end situation when a person bumps into a wall that cannot be helped. For example, there is a situation where a person is carrying a load until it runs out of force, and now it is likely to collapse if one more hair is placed on it. There are times when you feel like you're going to collapse completely if someone hits you, endure, you can't stand it, you can't take it anymore, you're crazy, you can't take it, you can't take it anymore, and you feel like you're going to go crazy. There are many difficult situations in life. There are times when you want to shake the roots of life and throw it all away and give up. So, when some believers encounter this kind of situation, their faith is shaken at the root, and there are people who throw away their God-given positions, missions, and whatever.

Dear saints!

Jesus' difficult situation was a 40-day fast. In such a situation, what is the status of the Son of God, what is the mission to atone for mankind, and what is the situation in which we can throw away everything and make bread with stones? But Jesus spoke clearly in these circumstances.

[Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God] (verse 4)

Satan often puts us in difficult situations, making it very difficult. Sometimes through people close and distant, sometimes through small and big events, it makes you extremely despairing so that you can no longer support yourself, and sometimes it makes you extremely angry that you can no longer maintain reason. Sometimes it makes you need no one's comfort, sometimes it hurts you too badly, leaving you hopeless.

Let's listen to the word of the Lord on how we should live in times like these.

Ladies and gentlemen, the mere fact of 'living through this and that' is enough power for a person to live. It is even more difficult and difficult to live rightly as a believer there.

Everyone says that social life is smooth when you get along. They say that the basics of life are to point your finger when you curse someone, and pretend you don't know when you steal. So, isn't it in this world that it's easier to live in a circle, eating things that shouldn't be eaten together and burying things that shouldn't be buried together? Moreover, when people know that I believe in Jesus, they have different standards of how they see people, and they always look at our words and actions with a different standard of saying, “Because you are a Christian”, so acting as a believer is more difficult than studying for the entrance exam. However, no matter how difficult and difficult this life may be, please remember that God wants and loves people who live righteously rather than just those who live like that, and who live righteously as believers rather than just living righteously. .

It may be difficult to live, but let's discern the time and go back.

I hope that you will receive strength from the Lord to overcome even the most difficult situations by remembering the Lord's words and living. I pray in the name of the Lord that you will become victors in this wonderful life. - Amen -
