Title: What is the truth?
Contents
The law was given to the old man (man of the flesh) through Moses, and grace and truth were given to the new man (man of the spirit) through Jesus Christ. The old man is a man of this world born of the blood of sinners, of the flesh, and of the will of man.
There must be a mediator between God and man. A person who commits a sin cannot come directly to God. This is because no sinner can see God directly and live. Therefore, mediation between God and man was absolutely necessary. As it is written, “There is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5).
Therefore, God has given two mediators to all peoples under the heavens. One mediator was a servant, and another mediator gave himself a son. No one comes to God except through these two mediators.
Regarding this, the Bible says, “Moses was also faithful as a servant in all the house of God to testify to what was to come, and Christ was faithful as a son over his household; and if we hold fast to the boldness and boasting of our hope to the end, it is his house” (Hebrews). 3:5-6).
It is written, “Moses was a witness to what was to come” (Galatians 3:24). The law (the law of commandments related to the flesh) that was given through Moses, as it is, became a tutor to lead us to Christ.
Therefore, unless we die to the law through the law in the law (the former commandments), we cannot come to Christ, who is eternal life. This is because the grace and truth of God in raising life together with Christ is granted only to those who have been crucified with Christ and the truth through Christ must obey the curse of the law.
A person who has experienced this himself testifies, “By the law I died to the law, that I might live to God” (Galatians 2:19). This testimony is the truth.
As it is written, since man became flesh, no one can deviate from the law (the former commandments) pertaining to the flesh. The law says, “All have turned aside, and together they have become unclean, and there is none that does good, not even one” (Psalm 14:3), and again testifies, “As it is written, There is none righteous, not even one” (Romans 3:10) "Cursed are all those who are of the works of the law, for it is written, Cursed is anyone who does not always do all the things that are written in the book of the law." (Galatians 3:10) All people are under a curse and are already dead before God.
Therefore, the Son of God in charge of the house was sent as a man so that he might not perish from this death, but have eternal life, and that he was made to be born under the law so that the righteousness of God might be accomplished. As it is written, “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us, for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree” (Galatians 3:13).
Now the important thing is that I am with him in his death. Then I am also in his life. This is the mystery of God that can only be achieved through faith in the truth. Therefore, it is this faith that leads to the salvation of souls. It is testified, “Faithful saying, if we died with the Lord, we also live together” (2 Timothy 2:11).
Therefore, those who have not experienced the reality of faith that the question (the law) kills and the spirit gives life cannot know what the law is and what grace and truth are. Because we do not know what the truth is, we know it through our instincts, and we will eventually suffer the damage of the second death.
The ministry of Moses is the ministry of killing, and the ministry of Christ is the ministry of life. The commandment to kill is the “old commandment” and the commandment to save is the “new commandment”. Therefore, under the old covenant there is the old man (the undead man of the flesh), and under the new covenant there is the new man (the man whose old man died with Christ and was raised with him).
Through Moses, the fleshly man died, and through Christ the spiritual man came to life. That is why the Bible says, “It is sown in a natural body and is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body” (1 Corinthians 15:44). Therefore, the Lord Himself said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes in him who sent me has eternal life and will not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life” (John 5:24).
Therefore, if the old man wants to enter the kingdom of God without dying (not obeying the gospel), he is acting as an enemy of the cross and is a thief, a thief, and a robber. It is true that the old commandment was given to the old man and the new commandment was given to the new man. Amen, thank you Lord.
