Title: What Is This? Acts 2:1-36
It was the day of Pentecost. It is a festival of thanksgiving and gathering in Jerusalem. Jews from all over the world gathered here. Around that time, in Mark's upper room near the temple, about 120 people gathered to pray. It was the tenth day as we prayed according to the Lord's command to wait for what he had promised.
Suddenly, a sound like a rushing, strong wind came from heaven, and something like tongues of fire fell upon each of them. This had never happened before. A new power came upon the disciples. The church was born. It was the start of the history for God's work in the world.
If you are filled with the Holy Spirit...
1. The Holy Spirit upon each person
1) The Holy Spirit came upon each person.
"It came upon each one, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit... (3-4)"
- In the Old Testament times, it came to a special person temporarily.
- After the coming of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost, it will come to all who believe in Jesus Christ.
2) They spoke in tongues.
"(Acts 2:4) And he began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance."
- The disciples spoke in the language prevailing at the time (8).
- The disciples spoke of the great things of God.
- The purpose of tongues was to spread the gospel.
2. Surprised people
1) Those who heard this sound were surprised.
“(Acts 2:11) We all hear them speaking in our tongues the great things of God.”
- In a commotion (6)
- Everyone was amazed and marveled (7)
- What is it? (8)
- Everyone was surprised and suspicious (12)
2) Some mocked them.
"We are drunk with new wine (13)."
(1 Corinthians 2:14) Natural people do not receive the things of the Spirit of God, which to them are foolishness, and they do not understand them, for these things are discerned only spiritually.

Rev. Dunkin Campbell Sees a Revival in Western Scotland
What the world should see is the wonder and beauty of those who belong to God. If God is present in them and they reveal it to the world through their lives, the world will easily believe in God.
3. Courageously testifying to God's great works
1) Fear and fear disappeared from them.
- In the past, they were afraid and denied Christ.
-Those who returned to their hometowns after seeing the resurrection of Jesus
2) They started talking about the great things of God (11).
- Standing in front of those who crucified Jesus and preaching.
- Spirit-filled Christians care about the great things of God.
- God's work is to save the world
3) The purpose of God sending the Holy Spirit to the church
- It is to do God's work to save the world.
- The people of the world are interested in earthly affairs (Righteousness, Food, State)
- Those who are filled with the Holy Spirit begin to tell the unsaved people the things of God.
4. Looking to a new era
1) He knew that a new era that the prophets had dreamed of had opened (16-21).
- The era of seeing dreams and fantasies has begun.
- This age is the age when the Spirit of God is received in the body.
2) In this age, whoever believes will be saved (38-39).
- You must first repent and receive the forgiveness of sins.
- Then you will receive the Holy Spirit as a gift.
5. Becoming a Resurrection Witness from a New Perspective on the Word.
1) I understood the prophecies of the resurrection of Christ in the Bible (26-31).
- Those who did not believe in the news of the resurrection in the past.
- Jesus even rebuked them for their lack of faith (Mark 16:4).
2) Becoming a witness to the resurrection of Christ (32).
- Now, boldly began to testify of the resurrection.
- We are all witnesses to these things.
- God made Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ (36).
Lesson
All saints live by the Holy Spirit. Anyone without the Spirit of Christ is not of Christ (Romans 8:9). But the Bible tells us that we must be filled with the Holy Spirit. Do not get drunk, for this is debauchery, but be filled with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18).
The Lord knows our weaknesses. and comfort you "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in Me (John 14:1)." “I will not leave you as orphans” (John 14:18). "Don't worry." “I will send the Comforter, the Holy Spirit.
We are happy to have him in us. He is the one who comforts me. Let us pray that God will fill us with the Holy Spirit.
