Title: What the Holy Spirit Did
Title: What the Holy Spirit Did (Acts 2:42-47)
Not long ago, according to Lema, a professor at a seminary from a seminary had a conversation with a person sitting next to him while he was on an airplane. The professor, do you have faith? When asked, the neighbor who identified himself as a professional deodorizer said yes. I believe that anything on Earth has a purpose. answered. When the professor agreed with it, this time he asked a very embarrassing question. 'Do you know what a mouse's purpose is? When the professor was silent because he could not find anything to say, he joked that the purpose of the rat's existence is to give us job opportunities. If mice exist for a purpose in this world, what purpose should we live for?
The content of the text describes how the early church community, which began with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, lived.
We hope you will be filled with grace through this text.
1) When the Holy Spirit did not come, it was a den of robbers.
Why was it a den of robbers before the Holy Spirit came? It was because the work of the Holy Spirit did not come upon us, but the will and thoughts of man intervened.
Judas Garon sold Jesus for 30 pieces of silver out of greed for material things. And he put Jesus to death on the cross.
Acts 1:18 (This man bought a field with the wages of unrighteousness, and afterward he collapsed, and his stomach burst open, and all his intestines came out.
Acts 2:36 Therefore, let all the house of Israel know for sure, that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ." I did.
When the Holy Spirit did not come like this, the church was a den of robbers.
2) Because the Holy Spirit came, the church was full of grace.
43 “Everyone was afraid, but many wonders and signs were revealed through the apostles.”
The history of persecuting the church and suffering harm is also an invisible wonder and sign. One time I was ringing the church bell, and the next door to the church persecuted me like that. We have heard stories about people who were persecuted to have their heads broken after falling off the paper and their heads were broken after they got into a car accident. It is the work of the invisible Holy Spirit.
When the Holy Spirit worked, many wonders and signs appeared to the apostles.
Also, there is a history of sharing and sharing things with each other.
44 All who believed were together, controlling all things.
45 And he sold his possessions and possessions, and distributed it to each one according to his need.
This means that you share and share with each other without yours or mine as joint ownership. At that time, the situation was a village where we lived together, so we shared and lived without yours or mine. This is because the Holy Spirit is at work, so the appearance of a community life that is united through love has emerged.
We believe that when the Holy Spirit works, our altars will also help each other and cooperate with each other, so that a unified work of love will emerge.
Please believe that the work of the Holy Spirit will transform the den of robbers into a community of love.
We strive to gather together, to break bread, and to praise God.
46 “Every day we made every effort to meet together in the temple together, breaking bread at home, eating food with joy and sincerity of heart 47 praising God
When the Holy Spirit works, the den of robbers changes and strives to gather. Hebrews 10:25 Let us not forsake the gathering of people, as is the habit of some, but encourage them, and do so all the more as we see the day drawing near.
We will try our best to get together. Weekday afternoon, three nights, early morning prayer service, regional worship.. And breaking bread... A dining community where food is divided. (Afternoon snacks are shared.. Sometimes you have to be zealous about eating together)
And glorifying God will happen. I hope you believe that you should always praise God and give glory to God.
Psalm 100:1 Sing joyful praise to the LORD, all the earth. 2 Serve the LORD with joy, come before him with song. 3 Know that the LORD is our God. He made us, and we are his; we are his people, his people. It is a sheep of his pasture. 4 We enter his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise, and when the Holy Spirit works, we praise God.
When the Holy Spirit works, the people receive praise and increase the number of people who are being saved. 47 And he was praised by all the people, and the Lord added to the number of those who were being saved day by day. When the Holy Spirit filled the church, the den of robbers was changed, and the wonders and signs of the apostles appeared, and they worked hard to gather together, shared things and praised each other. I hope you believe that the work of salvation will happen every day.
