Title: What to do
Content Title: What should be done
Bible: 1 Corinthians 4:1-5
In today's text, we are wary of judging people. Furthermore, it also talks about what kind of person a perfect spiritual leader is. In today's sermon, we are delivering the word about the spiritual leader and depicting the leader.
First: They are servants of Christ.
“Man ought to call us Christ’s servants” (verse 1). Christ’s servant, this word is “hyperetas” in Greek. This word has been translated into Korean as a worker, but the expression slave (slave) would be more appropriate than the expression worker. In Roman times, people moved large ships with the power of rowing. Those who rowed from the bottom of the boat, such people, were the 'huperetas'. These 'huperetas' (workers) are people who row only as the captain or overseer gives orders and signals. Spiritual leaders are people called by Christ and doing what He tells them to do.
Second: He is the one in charge of the secret.
“Consider them who have been entrusted with the mystery of God” (verse 1). Another expression is those who have been entrusted with it. Verse 1.2 is the word “oikonomos”. The stewards we speak of, the people who manage the house. A faithful man is chosen from among the servants and assigned to the stewardship. These stewards were in charge of all household duties, including financial management, raising children of the owner, and managing the work. The most important of these was to diligently provide food for the household members. We are just suppliers.
Third: Don't judge.
“Therefore, judge nothing before the time, until the coming of the Lord” (verse 5). no one around We have the only absolute One. And he will judge most accurately in his time. The important thing is that the workers look only at Him, and the attitude of the workers is to be faithful to Him who will judge me perfectly.
