Title: What to Say - Jesus
Contents
1. My belief.
1) I will tell you what I believe
2) I tell you what I believe now (not what I have believed before or will believe in the future)
2. That belief
1) The word that God has commanded you to believe (instructions, exhortations, teachings).
2) God's work (life, lessons, relationships, miracles, history).
3. Contents of Faith
1) Apostles' Creed: A summary of the doctrines believed by the apostles around AD 390 in later generations.
① Believe in God - ㉠ Almighty ㉡ Creator ㉢ Father
② Believe in Jesus - ㉠ the only begotten son ㉡ the Lord ㉢ Christ ㉣ conceived by the Holy Spirit (via the Virgin Mary) ㉤ suffering (cross) Pilate ㉥ resurrection ㉦ ascension ㉧ presence (at the right hand of the throne of God) ㉨ the second coming ㉩ judgment.
③ Believe in the Holy Spirit:
④ Believe in the Church:
⑤ We believe in the communion of saints:
⑥ I believe in forgiveness of sins:
⑦ Believe in the body to live again:
⑧ We believe in living again forever:
2) The main work of the Trinity for salvation
① God's love - Because he generously gave his only begotten Son Jesus on the cross to save us who are sinners. The love that gave believers salvation and eternal life (Romans 6:23)
② The grace of Jesus - For sinners, taking on the body of a man who is the Son of God (God Himself) and can only be a sinner. It is that grace that opened the way for us, who are sinners, to live by dying on the cross where sinners die.
③ The fellowship of the Holy Spirit - The fellowship that makes us believe in this love of God and the gracious work of Jesus, and that God (the Holy Spirit) who acknowledges our faith pulls our way to heaven.
3) How should we respond ⇒ “acknowledging, affirming, and proclaiming”
① What: Being (existence), working, relating (history = past, present, future)
② How: “Die and live” - ㉠ Jesus died on the cross for our sins (death to kill our sins) and rose again to make us live again (forever).
㉡ Those who believe in Jesus die to sin and live forever for eternal life. (Therefore, I admit that the person I will preach is a sinner, and from that fact, we also need the necessity of the gospel.)
4. Side Branches of Faith
1) Side branches: personal experiences, answers to prayers, and the great works of the Holy Spirit (miracles, miracles).
2) Stem of faith = God and the words (promises) and works of God (especially: faith leading to salvation is believing in His promises, and those who are saved are sharing those promises)
