Title: What we should do
Contents Bible text: Romans 14:13-23 Title: What we should strive for
Romans 14:13-23.
13 Wherefore, let us no longer judge one another, but rather stumble.
Be careful not to put anything harsh before your brother. 14 Whatever I know and have confidence in the Lord Jesus,
There is nothing profane in himself, but it is unclean to the one who considers it unclean. 15 If your brother grieves because of food,
for you do not act out of love
Do not ruin your food for your food, the brother for whom Christ died. 16 Therefore, let your goodness not be slandered. 17 The kingdom of God is not about eating and drinking.
but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit, 18 so that those who serve Christ are pleased with God,
19 Therefore we are devoted to the work of peace and the edification of one another. 20 Do not destroy the cause of God for food.
All things are condemned, but it is evil to the one who eats it as a stumbling block.
It is beautiful that you do not make your brother a stumbling block. 22 Have the faith that you have in yourselves before God.
Blessed is the man who does not reproach himself for what he finds right. 23 He who doubts and eats is condemned, because it is not from faith.
Anything not of faith is sin.
* What should we strive for?
1. We must strive for peace. (19 verses)
"Blessed are the peacemakers
for they shall be called the sons of God” (Matthew 5:9).
2. We should strive to edify each other. (verse 19b)
This is the attitude of the saints of the last days.
2 Peter 1:1-11.
1 Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ,
Equally precious faith through the righteousness of our Savior Jesus Christ
To those who have received as we do: 2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God and of our Lord Jesus, 3 because by his miraculous power he has given us all things pertaining to life and godliness.
for this comes through the knowledge of him who called us by his glory and virtue, 4 thereby giving us his precious and exceedingly great promise,
Flee from the corruption in the world through your lusts,
5 Therefore, be more diligent in your faith to give virtue, to virtue knowledge, 6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 7 godliness to brotherly kindness, brotherly Give love to friendship. 8 If these things are sufficient for you, then you will receive our Lord Jesus Christ.
lest he become sluggish and unfruitful in his knowledge, 9 but he who lacks these things is blind, and has lost sight and has forgotten the cleansing of his old sins. 10 Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make your calling and election sure.
11 If you do these things, you will never stumble. 11 If you do this, you will be saved by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He will give you ample access to the eternal kingdom.
3. We must strive to live by faith. (verse 23)
difference of opinion
A home appliance company wants to export refrigerators to Alaska.
Two salespeople were sent to understand the market.
The reports of the two salespeople who returned were completely different.
One salesperson said.
Because the place is so cold that the food doesn't spoil easily
No need for a refrigerator.
But the other salesperson replied with a smile.
Because Alaska freezes everything easily.
To prevent freezing, a refrigerator is best.
If you sow the seeds of “I can’t do it” in your heart,
The seed of “can do” cannot grow in that heart field.
We must first sow the seeds of faith that we can do anything.
The first thing you say is “everything will be fine”
Miraculously, our brains are looking for good opportunities and possibilities.
Unleash super powers.
You can't sell shoes because you go to the desert and not everyone wears them.
I can tell you, even to protect your feet in the scorching desert
I can say that shoes are a must.
Time and time again to see an excellent opportunity
With a positive thought, “Yes, it will be a good opportunity”
Please try it. It's a chance...
