Title: When a Mother Cries

When the mother cries

For unconverted children 1 2009.09.09

Luke 7:11-15 After that, when Jesus went to the city of Nain, his disciples and a large crowd were accompanying him. As he approached the gate, they came out carrying a dead man, his mother's only son and his mother a widow. When he came out with her, the Lord saw the widow and had compassion on her, saying, “Do not weep.” He came near and touched the coffin, and the bearers stood. Jesus said to her, “Young man, I say to you, get up.” he gave him to his mother

I. Background of the text

There is an account of Jesus entering Capernaum before going to a city called Nain. From there, there is now a scene of healing the sick and glorifying God. The castle called Nain was a very small castle. When going here, Jesus accompanied his disciples and a large crowd. It was a group of people who listened to the words of Jesus and followed them with grace and devoted themselves entirely to saving souls. At that time, a series of processions from the city were approaching Jesus. It was a funeral procession. Behind the coffins were their mothers weeping and weeping, followed by families and neighbors who mourned and mourned together. Let's take a look at the two matrices meeting each other. One procession was preceded by Christ, the Lord of life, followed by evangelists who save souls, and in the other procession, the dead preceded, followed by mothers and family members who mourn the death. The procession of life and the procession of death meet.

II. mother who was mistreated

At this time, Jesus meets his mother, who has been mistreated. In the word 慘慽, true () means miserable, and cheek () means sad. When a child dies before the parent, it is called shaming. Regarding sang (), if a young child dies before their parents, it is called a bad sang (惡喪), and if an old enough parent dies, it is called a hosang (好喪). People are born and someday they die. So, when you live long enough to live and die comfortably, your descendants call it Hosang. However, if a child dies before their parents, death itself is illegitimate, so even if the parents did not participate in the prize, they did not curse. Is there any parent who is not heartbroken when a child dies? But this mother lost her only son. The only blood relative is dead. No one knows the sorrow except those who have never experienced it.

Let's think about the true spirit of the soul. If God's great work of regeneration and conversion does not occur, the child's soul is in a state of disrepair. Because the god of this world is blocking the light of truth from believing in God, the child's soul is bound to fall into eternal judgment. How is your child now?

III. pity your mother

Jesus had compassion on this mother, who had been mistreated. It seems that Jesus heard from his neighbors and disciples that the woman's dead son was a young man, the only son, and his mother was a widow. How sadly this woman wept. Today's Bible records that the Lord saw the widow and had compassion on her.

There are several purposes for the Lord to perform miracles. What would you like to show us in this article? There is nothing but sorrow for this woman. Miracles were not performed here to emphasize the importance of faith or prayer. The Lord shows great mercy in God by sovereignly raising the son of a mistreated woman. This miracle was performed to show that God's mercy and love do not depend on anyone and that the Lord Himself can be poured out sovereignly on whomever he wants.

'Don't cry. You are more pitiful for crying than your dead son.’ Are you weeping for your children while the Lord tells them to stop crying?

IV. Lord who saves
