Title: When Father Cries
when my father sheds tears
“The king’s heart was very sore, and he went up to the gatehouse and wept. As he went up, he said, “My son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom, if I had died for you, Absalom my son, my son” (2 Samuel 18:33).
I. Text Commentary
The text reports the actual experiences of King David of Israel 3000 years ago. Although the most powerful monarch in Israel's history and the man who built the most powerful nation, his family life was not very happy. He had several wives and 29 children. David's eldest son was Ammon, and he had a half-sister, a girl named Tamar. Ammon fell in love with the child and raped him, and Absalom, born from the same mother as Tamar, dreams of revenge for his sister. Father David was a godly man and had faith in God, but when these things happened in the family, the pain and anger was great. Confirming that his father's love for Amnon has completely cooled, Absalom plays the lead role and murders his older brother. And you run away that way. David hated his eldest son, but he hated Absalom who had killed his older brother more.
However, as there is a saying that love is unconditional love, as the years passed, the father began to miss his son, and the servants reconciled the two and the son came back to live. But at that time, the wounds in each other's hearts were already deep, and Absalom decides that there is no reason for his father to inherit the throne as normal, and plans a rebellion. After years of preparing for the event, he dreams of seizing his father's kingship by gathering dissatisfied forces among his father's subordinates. When the rebellion broke out, David ran away with bare feet, but David, a man of faith, endured hardships by relying on God. Absalom slept with his father's concubines to arouse his father's wrath, and God took pity on David and helped him to settle this turmoil. So Absalom eventually died. When David heard the news that his son had died, he went up to the gatehouse and wept and wept. Then he poured out lamentations, saying, “My son, Absalom, Absalom, my son, Absalom, my son, my son, if I had died in your place.”
II. gave a home
Here we learn what a father's love is like. And naturally, if a father's love is that great, we ask what it means to be a family. Among the many institutions in this world, the family is the institution that God directly gave. God has given us a family so that humans can learn the right principles of living in that family and come to know God rightly. A man and a woman meet, fall in love, get married, form a family, and have children. Through their father, children learn whether it is right or wrong when they relate to themselves, others, and other things, and they learn to be rebuked, and through their mother, they learn love and justice together by experiencing forgiveness and embrace.
You learn the most basic principles of life for human life through the investigative attitude of parents who are thinking about how to live truly humanly. So, through them, as you grow up later, you will find a way to see your outlook on life and how your knowledge and wealth will be used and how you will contribute to your life. Therefore, the most important thing for families is that they live together. Separating children from their parents through study abroad or early education these days is truly a biblical way of teaching.
III. God the Father
IV. Conclusion: Make up with your parents
It is not strange to believe in Jesus by birth. Rather, just as the life of a prodigal son who lost his home after getting drunk in a foreign land without knowing his parents even though he has parents is an abnormal life, you, who have lived without God, have lived a wrong life. Now, when you are mature, and only after you have given birth to a child, do you know what a father's invisible love is and what a mother's tender love is. you are there Even though the child had a sword at his neck and rebelled to kill him, when he heard the news that the child was dead, he went up to the gatehouse weeping and went up to the gatehouse, where he called his name eight times. I could have, but the Lord is sadly calling you today to come back to you because I cannot live without you.
Therefore, I hope that you will be able to respond to the Father's invitation by firmly believing that the Lord is with you today and believing in Jesus Christ. So, I pray in the name of the Lord that you forgive and sincerely love all your family members who you had no choice but to hate, and that you will build a good family of faith in this land. 2011-05-22
