Title: When I Meditate on God's Grace
Contents
body description
What do we need to live in this world like a wilderness?
1. It is necessary to meditate on God's grace.
The Israelites complained and grumbled from time to time.
If they remembered at least one of the miracles they had seen in Egypt when they stood in front of the Red Sea, if they remembered the miracle of the Red Sea they had experienced three days before when they met the bitter water of Marah, if they had nothing to eat, they would turn the bitter water of Marah into sweet water. What would have happened if you had thought about the memories you had for a moment?
If they had not forgotten the miracles and graces of the past so quickly, they certainly would not have resented them so easily.
In Exodus 16:15, Moses refers to manna as “the bread the Lord has given you to eat.”
Manna was a miracle to feed the people through the clear means of God's grace.
However, when the food they eat every day became commonplace for them, they did not see God's grace in it.
They saw God in dramatic and miraculous moments such as the ten plagues and the Red Sea, but did not see God's work in the daily life of daily bread.
That is what made them resentful.
Why did God lead Israel into the wilderness?
The reason was to get rid of Egypt, which was hiding inside the people of Israel.
If it was necessary to cross the Red Sea for the outward exodus, it was necessary to cross the wilderness for the inward exodus. It is possible for the body to get out of Egypt in one event, but it takes a long and long process for the mind to get out of Egypt.
Believing begins with a single decision, but it requires a lifelong process of walking the path.
Sometimes we need the solitude of the wilderness and the desperation of the wilderness.
Through this process, we discover another Egypt within us, and we gradually come out of it.
We all have an inner Egypt to get out of.
What it takes to get out of this is not a miracle like the Red Sea.
Do not forget that it is a continuous meditation on the path of the wilderness.
It is necessary to meditate to remember the grace of the past and to see God's purpose and providence in all circumstances.
The resentment does not come out because there is not enough water and food, but because there is no meditation. Contemplation of past grace, present presence, and future purpose will inevitably lead us to act differently in the same situation.
*Exodus 16:31 - Text verse 8 (Attempt to improve manna/5)
*The difference between the genealogy of Shem and Cain in Genesis 4.5/ The meaning of the year difference between 480 and 573 years of Solomon's temple construction - The Bible sees the 93 years of living regardless of God's will as wasted years
2. Be part of the community (verse 4).
Verse 4 says, “The mixed crowd in Israel was greedy…”
In Exodus 12:38, the people who live together are referring to “a great mix of people…”.
For these people, their hope in Canaan, their faith in God and their national pride, had to drop significantly.
Because they are not part of the true community of Israel.
Eventually, they will be judged by God in verses 33-34.
Everyone!
We are the precious children of God who belong to the kingdom of God.
He is also a valuable member of the Malacca Korean Church.
When there is no clear sense of belonging, Satan causes the people to forget the grace of God and to complain and complain through the mixed crowd, so we today also cause chaos and problems through people who do not have a clear sense of belonging.
Meditation to remember the grace of the past.
Meditation to realize God's care in our daily life.
A sense of belonging to the kingdom of God.
We need to meditate on seeing God's purpose and providence in every situation.
The resentment does not come out because there is not enough water and food, but because there is no meditation.
