A crisis in life is an opportunity for recovery!
Heinz Kohut (1923-1981) argued that the human mental function has a self soothing capacity. It is said that the self-comfort function develops at a young age. “Mom, my brother hit me. My brother took my toys.” The child is sick and resentful. At this time, the mother comforts her daughter. “Who has tormented our pretty daughter like this? Don't worry, Mom will scold you. My daughter, will my mom buy me some ice cream?” Hearing the mother's comfort, the child is satisfied. And the daughter is relieved and runs out and has fun again. Now I am not afraid of my brother. Such mother's comfort is stored in the child's mind.
When a newborn baby cries, mothers hold the baby and rub the back. The child stops crying and goes to sleep. It's a mother's comfort feature. It is said that such a mother's comfort is internalized in the human heart.
There was a woman who was heartbroken. I was betrayed by the man I really trusted and loved. The pain of betrayal seemed to pick up the chest. I was deeply saddened and couldn't sleep with anger. One day, deep inside my heart, I heard a voice saying, ‘You can’t live like this. You have to be strong’ ‘Come on! Don't make yourself small! Let's be strong and everything will be fine." It was a voice of self-consolation.
The problem is the ability to self-criticism. The self-blame function is the ability to criticize and destroy oneself rather than comforting oneself in sorrow. 'Something like me will bother my family. It's better for my family to die than me' 'Die! Trash human
How should we respond when life crises that make us difficult like this come?
First, let's resist the voices of our hearts that criticize ourselves!
Verse 1: “Do not complain about those who do evil, and do not be jealous of those who do iniquity.”
Verse 7 “Do not complain” Verse 8 “Do not complain”
In other words, don't blame yourself or complain! Do not blame or complain to others! Complaining leads to dissatisfaction, which leads to anger.
Second, experience the comfort of God!
Neh 8:10 “The joy of the Lord is strength” Because of the joy of the Lord, verse 16 “The little the righteous have than the riches of the wicked”
Confess the voice of God through me! "OK. It'll be fine, even when it's more difficult than this, you've done well. Don't worry. It'll turn out okay"
Third, let's not lose hope!
Verse 4 “Rejoice in the Lord again! He will grant you the desires of your heart.”
Verse 5 “Commit your way to the LORD, trust in him and he will do it.
