Sermons for Preaching

Title: When shall we (Matthew 25:31-46)

The Gospel of Matthew was written for the Jews. He is teaching the reader responsibility and judgment by saying that Jesus is the Son of God who came as King. Therefore, the Gospel of Matthew is also called the 'Gospel of Judgment'. It contains a lot of instruction about judgment.

There are three parables in Matthew 25.

Verses 1-13 Parable of the ten virgins... Prepare for the Second Coming

Verses 14-30 Parable of the talents ... It speaks of loyalty, but the service of love is strong.

Verses 31-46 Parable of the Sheep and the Goats... Judgment of Works

All three parables teach us to prepare for the Lord's return and judgment.

Let's take a look at the chosen verse as the main text.

1. The time will surely come when the Son of Man will sit on the throne of glory.

He said he would come in his glory with the angels.

The first advent of Jesus was so humble that he was born in a manger in a stable. But his second coming will not be like the first. He will come to this earth in glory as the Judge. Then the Lord will gather before him, not only the Jews, but all nations.

2. As a shepherd separates sheep from goats.

The shepherd is seen as the Son of Man or God, and the sheep and goats are his colors, white and black, symbolizing good and evil. Even in practical value, the goat does not fall for the sheep, and the right side is considered to be better than the left side. The pigeon hawk used when talking about left or right wing or conservative liberals is also in the same vein.

3. Contents of classification

- Those who are blessed by my Father!

Come and inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. (34)

- You who are cursed

Leave me and enter the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels (41).

Blessings and curses come from being together and being separated.

Coming / together, or leaving / separated from me.

Blessed are the gift of God, Cursed are caused by their own unbelief

Inherit/ It is already prepared, go into the fire/ It is a sentence, a command against evil.

A preparation for you/ To the saints, a preparation for the devil and his angels/ Not man

What has been prepared since the creation/before the foundation of the world, eternal/destruction is also eternal.

virtues to be preserved

1. What to eat when I am hungry

2. When I was thirsty / made me drink

3. When I became a stranger/received and obligatory.

4. When I was naked / clothed

5. I looked back when I was sick6. I came and saw when I was in prison. voluntary and active

The righteous answered. When did we see you hungry and feed you?

Three times they asked, 'When will ...' that nothing has been done

The righteous are people who have fulfilled their duties and yet forget their good deeds.

But the Lord answered.

'Whatever you did for one of the least of these my brothers, you did for me.'

Who is 'the smallest one'?

- They are not apostles.

- It doesn't even refer to the clerk.

-People who need comfort and help.

-Jews think they are Gentiles.

- It refers to publicans and sinners.

The cursed are the exact opposite of the righteous.

'When did you not ....?'

The wicked are the ones who do not even know their mistakes and do not know their mistakes.

What is eternal life

It is the highest and best life that the saints continuously enjoy before God.
