Title: When Something Happens

Contents

When something upset happens <Genesis 30:14-24>

Everyone has something upsetting,

Lovers have their own upsetting things.

The president has his own upsetting things.

There is no one in this world who is not upset.

Life is full of upsetting things.

I'm upset because I can't keep my promise

I'm sorry for being misunderstood

I'm so sad I'm upset

I'm upset because I'm not doing well.

I'm upset that people seem to have ignored me - I can't fathom how upset I was.

Upsetting - Some people get sick from tantrums,

- There are people who get impatient and take extreme actions.

When you are angry and upset - there are 10 commandments.

1 'Hold on!' - Think like that.

Emotion management depends on success or failure in the first stage. The anger that rises with a 'boom' must be endured for once.

2 Think, 'It's like that.'

For example, when a customer offends you, think of the customer as 'that's the way it is'.

3 Think 'It's funny.'

The more you think about the world, the more comedic elements you get.

When you are in trouble, the more you think seriously, the deeper you fall into the abyss of anguish.

Think funny and try to simplify the problem

4 'Good. Think about it.'

When you're in trouble, say, 'Okay. A little thing.' Think big.

It is the human heart that can grow bigger than the sea if you set your mind big.

5 Think, 'There must be a reason for that.'

Try to force yourself into the other person's position. Even if I was that person, I would have no choice but to do that. There must be something that makes it so.' Think about it.

6 Think, 'Why am I because of you?'

The person who touched your nerves isn't hurt, wouldn't it be unfair if you simmer because of that person?

'Why do I have to rot in my stomach for you?' Think like that.

7 Be sure that time is medicine.

Realize that the things that upset you right now will not matter after a few days or even a few hours. When you are too upset, think hard with the thought that 'time is weak'.

8 Think of it as 'Don't Saeong'.

The whole world depends on what you decide to do.

Do not dwell on upsetting stimuli, and make an intentional effort to escape from mental stimuli by thinking, ‘Don’t worry about everything.

9 Recall a good moment.

If you cling to painful things, you will be simmering endlessly.

Recall the good times of the past. It can change your mood.

10 Close your eyes and take a deep breath.

When in distress, quietly close your eyes and use the nine methods mentioned above.

Take a deep breath. And try to swallow the rising anger as if swallowing saliva.

Saints!

Do you have a lot of things that upset you?

What upsets you?

How do you act when you are upset?

In today's text, there is also a woman who was very upset.

The woman's name is Rachel.

At the time of harvest, young Reuben went out to the fields with the harvesters, and found a mandarin leaf, which is said to have the effect of conceiving even a barren woman if he ate it. I dug it up and gave it to my mother Leah.

Manhwachae was regarded as an aphrodisiac and tonic for women living in the Near East at the time, and was called the ‘fruit of love’.

Eating this plant stimulates sexual urges and promotes pregnancy.

How good would Leah be?

But when Rachel heard the news, she was so upset that she could not bear it.

Because Leah had four sons, Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, but she still had no children.

Rachel begged her sister Leah to give her the mandrakes that Reuben had gathered.

Leah's production has also stopped.

Leah said - 'Son, you should have taken my husband away. and shot it.

Then Rachel -'If you give me the mandrakes, I'll let you sleep with Jacob this evening,' Rachel suggested.

Rachel had to eat mandrake and have children, even if she had to sleep with her husband.

But what was even more disturbing was that Leah, who had slept with Jacob, became pregnant and gave birth to Issachar, Zebulun, and a daughter, Dinah.

I ate mandrake, but there was no news, so I was really upset and felt like going crazy.

When she was upset and about to go crazy, God thought of Rachel.

Verse 22 - God thought of Rachel, and God heard her and opened her womb.

I ask you

Does anyone really care about me?

Is there anyone who thinks of me when I am upset?

Let's think concretely.

Who cares about me when I'm upset?

- Does anyone have an idea? If yes, how many?

If you have someone who cares about you, you are a happy person, but if you don't, you are an unhappy person.

How hard would life be if no one thought of me when I was upset?

If no one thinks of me when I'm upset - my stomach will rot and collapse.

Rachel, who was upset, had someone to think about.

He was neither a parent nor a husband.

Not brothers, not friends.

It was God who thought of Rachel, who had been upset.

God thought of Rachel - what a moving word.

When something really upset happened, God thought of Rachel.

Saints!

God is a thinker.

How was Lot saved from the fire judgment of Sodom and Gomrah?

Genesis 19:29 - When God destroyed the cities of the field, when he overthrew the city in which Lot lived, he remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow.

Lot was not saved from destruction because he was a righteous man.

God remembered Abraham and sent his nephew Lot out of Sodom and Gomrah.

He sent an angel to forcibly save him.

What could be more disappointing than that if the only blood and blood that had left the homeland of relatives and fathers and had come together until now were destroyed in the cities of Sodom and Gomura?

He remembered Abraham, who had been hurt, and saved him.

God is the one who cares for us when we are hurt. - Amen!

God who thinks of Rachel and Abraham thinks - He thinks of me when I was upset.

David, realizing this, confesses with emotion.

Psalm 8:4 - What is man, that you think of him, and what is the son of man, that you counsel him?

What am I that you think of me? What am I to take care of me?

I hope that this emotional confession will be yours.

Is there someone who can comfort you and take care of you when you are upset and struggling?

You have God.

God has thought of me - How grateful are you?

Please believe that there is a God who cares for you when you are upset.

God hears him -

God not only thinks of me, but He hears me.

When everyone is upset, they complain to someone and confide in them.

But what if there is no one to listen to?

Anton Chekhov's short story 'The Mourning' shows this.

Poor coachman Iona Potapov recently lost her son. Inona, wanting to tell someone about the sadness that heaven and earth are falling apart, looked at the passengers in the carriage and talked.

- “My niece died a few days ago.”

The first guest is - "Huh, what disease did you die of?" ' I answered, but immediately scolded the coachman for driving the carriage well.

The second guest shows a detached response, saying, “Everyone dies.”

Returning to the dormitory, Iona tries to talk to a young colleague, but he falls asleep without hearing a word.

Everyone listened to it in silence, but they did not share Eona's sorrow.

The place that poor Iona finally went to, thinking of a partner, was the stable.

- “Ah, am I too old to be a coach now? How good would it be if it were my son? He must be the number one driver, as long as he is alive.”

Only in front of horses munching on hay did Iona feel free to talk about her son.

Saints!

Do you have someone who truly listens to you when you are upset?

God hears him -

Hear - Shemmah - Agree, understand, discern,

God heard Rachel's upset.

He agreed and understood Rachel's upset heart.

God agrees and understands me when I am upset - How grateful are you?

Who can I tell about my upset and resentment?

Let's become a saint who freely confides to God who hears me.

Let's put aside our problems and upsetting things and pray.

1 John 5:15 - If we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we also know that we have what we ask of him.

We believe that God hears and grants whatever we ask for.

Psalm 116:1 - I love him because the LORD hears my voice and my supplications.

What a beautiful confession of faith.

I hope that you will become a saint who loves God who hears my sorrow.

Goddess of the womb, Goro -

God is not incompetent who ends up just listening.

If we stop listening - it may be a little comforting, but our fundamental problem remains.

The annoying problem remains.

God listened to Rachel and solved the upsetting problem.

He solved a problem that could not be solved even with a mandibular bond.

He opened Rachel's womb.

Job 31:15 - He who made me in the womb, did not he also make him? Is not the one who made us in the womb

God is the One who can close and open the door of the womb.

God opened Rachel's womb and gave birth to a baby.

Verse 23 - She conceived and bore a son, and said, "God has washed away my shame." And he called his name Joseph.

How can a barren woman express the joy of having a child in words?

God is a just God.

The God who had given Leah the father of Issachar and Zebulun gave birth to Rachel and Joseph.

Saints!

Do you believe in a God who solves problems?

Do you believe in a God who hears and opens?

The God who opened the womb - opens everything.

Open your eyes to see spiritual blessings.

Open your ears to hear the word of God.

He opens the door of the gospel and saves all people.

Open the door to business and prosper.

You open a new path in life.

What are your upsets and problems?

As God opens it, I hope that the blessing of being resolved will be with you.

One day, a man came and asked.

- I've been working hard in my life without committing any crimes, but 365 days a year, there are no comfortable days without a single day off, and when I wake up from sleep, I'm just worried and upset.

At that time, the wise man answered - The reason why everyone's worries and troubles do not stop is because of greed.

I have been greedy for more wealth, a bigger house, a bigger room, a higher position, better food, and better clothes. Isn't this

Yes!

365 Days a Year - Life is a life that does not stop worrying and upset.

What a great tragedy and unhappiness if you live a life that does not stop worrying and upset.

How will you live your life?

Psalm 115:12 - The LORD remembers us and blesses us; he will bless the house of Israel, he will bless the house of Aaron, and he will bless those who fear the LORD, great and small.

Let's live in fear of God.

- God blesses those who fear the Lord.

God thinks of those who fear God and gives them blessings.

Whenever I am troubled and upset, let's become a believer who trusts in God who thinks of me.

I hope that you will become a saint who receives the blessings of thinking, listening, and opening to me.
