When to pray and when to stop
2 Chronicles 16:7-14
Chronicles is the history of kings.
When we look at the history of the various kings in Chronicles, we discover one fact.
It is a fact that the king who prayed a lot was a good king.
14:7, 11 in the text; 17:3-4; 20:12 Let's meditate.
We come to the conclusion that we should strive to pray.
And the first part of text 16:9 can be said to be the answer.
The main text is the story of Asa (chapters 14, 15, and 16) - the end of King Asa.
I prayed diligently during the chaum.
But in the second half, it was different.
He stopped praying.
1. What happened when King Asa prayed?
First - it was peaceful. (14:1, 5, 7)
Second - the country is safe. (14:8; 15:19)
Third - difficult problems are solved. (15:5-6, 9)
2. By the way (16:1) Rama's military base incident
There is a major mistake here. I didn't pray. I work alone. (16:2)
I go one step further and get sick, but I don't pray.
3. What happened when you stopped praying?
First - become self-righteous. (16:7, 10)
Second - suffered and died. (16:12-13) Contrast with Hezekiah (Isaiah 38:5)
Third - it left a great disappointment. In other words, it is okay to say that it left a big blemish.
