Title: When Trouble Comes

Contents

No matter who you are, people hate suffering. No one likes to suffer. But suffering is experienced by everyone. This affliction comes without warning. Therefore, it is important how we overcome the hardships that come our way.

Even if the things we carry today are heavy and troublesome, even if there seems to be no hope for tomorrow, even if I have nothing, let's remember these words.

"All shall pass"

Nothing stays in this world forever.

Tomorrow will be a new opportunity.

Tomorrow will give us new strength.

Tomorrow is a new hope.

Tomorrow will be a new day. A new day in life will unfold.

A few days ago, a taxi driver came to me and chatted with me when I overheard him share an experience. One day, I had to take a young man to Chuncheon, so I was driving on the road under construction of a new highway, but the road was bumpy and I couldn't see because of the dust generated by the car in front. It's gotten to the point where it's difficult. The driver was tired and unwittingly annoyed by the bad roads and the dust covered him. So I got nervous and yelled at him. Then a young man in the car said, "Mister, do you heat up with these things?" This article was inspired by these words. “Ah, I did something embarrassing to this young man when I told him to believe in Jesus,” he said. So when he returned from Chuncheon, the situation was still there, but he calmed down and returned home happily.

And what the knight said is that from then on, whenever something happens, if you unknowingly say to yourself, "Do you have this kind of heat?", you don't know when the complicated thoughts that bubbled up in your mind will disappear. In fact, there are many times among us that we get annoyed, scolded, worried, disappointed, and annoyed over nothing. After all, it wasn't a big deal.

I read a story like this in a book. It is the story of a woman who traveled for the first time by train a long time ago. This woman is on the train for the first time, so she barely finds her seat and as soon as she sits in her assigned seat, she is very busy trying to adjust the window so that just the right amount of outside air comes in. When I open the door, it gets too wide. I try to make it narrow again. It gets too narrow. When I sit down and widen it, the wind seems to come in too hard. When I get up again and narrow the window, it feels too stuffy. And after some adjustments were made, I took the curtain up and then lowered it. And I didn't like it, so I put it back up and put a lot of effort into adjusting it to get the right light.

After that, I had to put the suitcase on a shelf, but I got up on a chair and sweated hard to get it in place. And I bought it to use when traveling, and put it on here to protect the first hat I wore so it wouldn't go bad. I don't feel like it, so I put it on a low bag and try it. As the speed of the train changes, the bag moves, so all my nerves are focused on the hat, so I get off the shelf again and hang up clothes. It is blown by the wind, so I put it on my lap and try it. Then I took out a mirror and a comb, and began to carefully comb my hair that had been messed up in the meantime. When she was all set up and now she was about to sit comfortably in a nearly stable position, the conductor came up to her and told her, "Your next stop is the one you'll get off at." The woman who got off the train said to herself: "If I had known it was going to come down so soon, I wouldn't have trembled at the repair needlessly!" it would be

I learned a lot from this story. Our lives are short-lived in terms of travel. According to Moses' prayer, "Life is 70 years, and if you are strong, even 80 years, it goes quickly and you fly away."

No matter how well you live, life is a short period of time. It's not worth fussing over trifles. Given how short life is, there are many things that we don't really need. On the other hand, even though it is a very important task, it is often overlooked because of trivial matters.

Now I'm running towards the 50's in my life. There are a lot of things that I have never felt before are taken more seriously. In the past, it was true that there were times when I thought I had a lot of time left and wanted to do this and that. But these days, I myself have made a lot of changes. How many years will I have left from now? It was the afternoon, not the morning of my life. Therefore, I think a lot about what I must do. I don't want to spend time performing. I don't want to get involved in things that don't matter if I'm there or not. Considering how short this journey is, there is no need to worry about unimportant things. I'm busy with a lot of things, you're right, I'm right, I don't even want to argue. Because the time is approaching when you will get off the train of your life.

In the Old Testament book of Job, there is a verse like this: “Life is born for suffering, as sparks fly upward” (Job 5:7) Everyone experiences trials in some way, although their circumstances and circumstances are slightly different. However, life is not always full of hardships, crises, and adversity. Rather, most of life is relatively quiet. It seems that there is more joy and happiness than unhappy suffering, crisis and adversity. But crises, adversity, and hardships seem to occupy a large part of our lives because they remain in our memory.

Trials come in many forms. It may be a difficult disease. It could be an unhappy marriage. It could be losing your job. It could be the death of a loved one. It could be an unexpected car accident. It could be a financial loss. It could be the betrayal of a friend. It could be harsh criticism. You may be faced with an unfair judgment. It could be purely the boredom of life. Trials come in many forms and in many ways, and in the end they all come to everyone. So, "What should I do when this difficulty arises?" is a very important issue.

Everyone, the hardships we face can actually be a blessing. There is a story like this. A Norwegian fisherman took his two sons out to sea to fish. As usual, my mother went to Sinchang to see off her family, caught a lot of fish, and prayed for a safe return. In the afternoon, the wind picked up and high waves began to form. The boat with the fisherman and his two sons began to sink. It has reached a point of indescribability. Meanwhile, in the house, the fire caught in the furnace went wrong, and the strong wind spread the fire, and the entire house was burned with only a few clothes left. At this time, the father and two sons managed to get to the beach safely by rowing the boat. On the beach, my mother was waiting to tell the family the sad news that there was a fire.

The wife, who met her husband, ran to her in tears and cried, "Honey! The fire has burned down our entire house. We have nothing left now." But my husband wasn't too surprised by that. My wife is sadly saying, "Honey! Can't you hear me?" Then my husband replied, "Yeah, I heard it. But a few hours ago we got lost in the high waves and almost died. The lighthouse went out and we couldn't see it. Then we were ready to die. But it was dim from afar. I saw a very yellow light, and then it got bigger and bigger. We rowed in the direction of the light with all our strength to change the direction of the boat. So we came here. What we saw when our house first started burning. It must have been that dim light. When it was burning for a long time, the entire coast was as bright as broad daylight. The fire that burned our house saved our lives." It's a moving story.

Just as our homes are on fire, we need to remember that losing everything can lead to gaining something even more important. We are not made of stone. Someone who has feelings, has weaknesses, and can get hurt. But on the other hand, there are strengths and advantages. Sometimes it may be difficult to endure the hardships we face, but we can bear it. This is not my strength, but the grace of God. When suffering comes, it seems that I am alone, but in reality, God is with me.

Joseph went to jail unfairly, but God was with him. Daniel kept his faith and was thrown into the lions' den. But God was with him. Therefore, the lion did not harm Daniel.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were thrown into the furnace for not worshiping idols. But we didn't burn a single hair. Because an angel of God was with them. It says in Isaiah 43:1 below. "Do not be afraid. I have redeemed you, and I have called you by name; you are mine, and as you pass through the waters, I will be with you. When you cross the river, the waters will not sink you, and when you walk in the fire, they will not be burned, and the flame It cannot burn you."

Let's look at Isaiah 41:10. “Do not be afraid, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Do you really believe in this promise of God? I believe that no matter what hardships may come, you will be able to overcome them and give them the strength to survive.
