Title [3.8] When You Say No

When writing content

(2 Samuel 7:18-29)

David's only hope was to build a holy house to represent God's presence. Not to satisfy his fame, reputation, or desires, but out of love for Jehovah, he had made up his mind to build a holy temple. However, through the prophet Nathan, David hears the voice of God's rejection when it comes to building the temple. David shows the image of a mature Christian who finds positive answers in the negative circumstances of such rejection.

1. When David was rejected, he drew nearer to God and sat down. (18)

David's first attitude was to come and sit before the Lord with joy and peace. However, many people are angry, distressed, and struggling when they are rejected. The reason is that they cannot distinguish between rejection and denial. It was not a denial of David's life when God said, "You are not." He refused because he had a plan of blessing from God for the generations to come.

In our life of faith, we want to work harder, serve, and devote ourselves, but there are times when we get rejected. He rejects us directly, but also rejects us through various indirect events. Then our attitude is to draw closer to God.

2. David had a beautiful question when he was rejected (18)

When people are rejected, they put division, strife, and anger at the forefront. Also resenting my ancestors and resenting my parents, "Why am I like this? Why was I born to unlucky parents?" It is easy to fall into this self-abuse.

But David once again asks the question of his position before God. "Who am I?" He has done nothing by his own strength or power, and all his toil, devotion, and effort must have been by God's grace. that it is only

Sometimes in our lives, at a time when we have to experience frustration and rejection, ask yourself a beautiful question before God and put yourself on the “starting line of God’s grace” like David.

3. Remembering and praising the grace and love you have already given (verses 21-28)

Rather than remembering what he rejected, David remembers what he has already given and everything he has already enjoyed, and is consistent with gratitude and praise.

Even if you are rejected, you can remember the love and grace you have already received and have a heart to praise God, and I believe that this kind of heart toward God will become a truly blessed image.

I want to become a person of mature faith who finds God's deep will and gives thanks and hope even in our difficult circumstances.

The most loyal cooperators in carrying out God's will will be servants who work with cooperation and praise, not those filled with murmuring, dissatisfaction, despair, and suffering.

We have already received everything from God - a person who can praise and appreciate even the occasional refusal of a supplication will surely discover God's wonderful plan, providence, and will.

At this time today, I pray in the name of the Lord that you will become a person of faith who can know God's good will and pray with faith.
