Title: When Your Ego Is Destroyed

Isaiah 53:3-5 When your pride is destroyed
"Ah- I'm a decent person, even though I'm not that tall, I don't have a very handsome face, and even if I didn't go to a great university, I don't have much money, but I'm a person who deserves to live in this world." This is what we call 'self-esteem' when we refer to the heart we respect.
If this self-esteem is destroyed and collapsed, there is a risk of losing the meaning of life, making life helpless, and even becoming like an animal. However, it would be better if this pride should not be hurt, but somehow, there are people who struggle in pain as their pride, which is more precious than gold, is broken and trampled on. What should we do in this case?
1. The appearance of several people whose self-esteem has been destroyed
In the Bible, there is a man named Job. He was robbed of all his property by barbarians, and his 10 children all died in one day. And he himself fell into great pain with sore throats all over his body. But he had visible sorrows, greater sorrows and pains invisible than visible pains.
It was none other than a wound of pride. Still, he boasted that he believed in God the most in his own way, but God also acknowledged him as a righteous man in the East. After suffering such a great tribulation, his wife, friends, villagers, and even his servants, who respected him so much, took care of themselves. got ridiculed. For Job, the hurt of self-esteem suffered by the person who received the greatest respect from being ridiculed the most was the greatest wound for Job.
Also see a man named Hosea. He was a servant of God and a prophet. However, after his wife gave birth to two sons and one woman, he ran away from home. And she became a prostitute in the world. As a result, the family was in a mess. How much pride must have been hurt because the great prophet could not properly take care of his wife, and that wife ran away from home and became a prostitute in the world.
Also sees a woman named Sarai. She was a very beautiful woman. Because of her beautiful beauty, she had great pride, but somehow she could not have children, and she was despised even by her maidservant Hagar. And because of her beautiful beauty, she married the king of Egypt in front of her husband, Abraham, and then returned home, so how much pride must have been hurt?
Gentlemen, if there is anyone in this world who has not seen their pride destroyed, ask them to come out. There is not. Why? It is because all people in this world have broken and destroyed the noble image of God in their hearts after Adam and Eve fell. In other words, all people living in this world are people whose self-esteem is destroyed.
Today, the problem that your self-esteem is destroyed and suffers and suffers is the problem that everyone in this world suffers. The president, the president, the teachers, the students, the wife, the husband, the children, me and all of you all have had bitter experiences of hurting your pride. Heaven is probably the only place where pride is not destroyed.
Previously, newspaper articles reported that a child who had been trafficked and returned to his family had run away again. Why? It was because my pride was so damaged that I couldn't carry my face around at school or at home. I also saw this article. A female student who was caught cheating during an exam fell into depression and worried deeply, then wrote a will and committed suicide. In the will, it was written: "I don't have the courage to live anymore!"
Guys, why don't you have the courage to live? It was because he suffered a serious injury to his self-esteem during his sensitive youth. Sometimes living in this world hurts our self-esteem. self-esteem as a husband
Sim, pride as a wife, pride as a mother, pride as a father, pride as a saint, pride as a pastor. When these pride are trampled on and destroyed, we lose the courage to live.
Guys, what is one of the biggest difficulties of living abroad? It's nothing more than hurting your self-esteem. Isn't it very difficult to be treated like an idiot because you don't know English, to feel embarrassed because you don't know the culture, to blush because you don't know the law, and to be racist even by people you consider trivial?
Still, in Korea, he did quite well, he was quite knowledgeable, and he was quite respected, but when he came here, his self-esteem was shattered and destroyed, right? Yet, there is no other environment, no other person, no other refuge in this place to provoke one's destroyed self-esteem. After all, isn't it a big pain in living abroad to fall into depression because you can't make up for the self-esteem destroyed by small things, or to lose peace and joy because of anger?
2. Who is destroying my pride?
Has the President of the United States destroyed your pride? Did an actress named Marilyn Monroe destroy your pride? Or did Korean talent Kim Hye-soo destroy your pride? Ladies and gentlemen, the person who destroys my self-esteem is often the person closest to me, the person I trusted the most, trampling on my self-esteem most thoroughly.
Look at a man named Job. It was none other than his wife, who was closest to him, who destroyed his self-esteem most thoroughly. What did she say to her husband Job when Job had all his possessions looted, his ten children were crushed to death in their houses collapsed, and she groaned with a spear? "Honey, we've suffered so much, but let's be brave and stand up again." Instead of saying, "Hey, you said you believed in God so hard, it's bad! Rather, curse God and die." As he spoke, he scratched away the pride that only Job had left.
See also David. His beloved child Absalom insults his second wife and threatens to kill his old father. David runs away with his white hair fluttering, weeping and weeping barefoot. When none other than his own child rebelled like this, David's face as a king and his pride as a father were all destroyed in front of his servants.
Also see Peter. When a young visage says, "You too were with Jesus," Peter replies. "I have no idea who Jesus is. I am the one who curses Jesus." After saying those words, I looked at Jesus' face and Jesus looked at him. Oh, how miserable and self-deprecating it must have been. If there was even a mouse hole, Peter would have wanted to enter.
Just a moment ago, I had confidently answered, "Lord, even if everyone else forsakes you, I will follow you to the point of death." But how did I become like this? Ah- I want to die! He hated himself so much. And we cry out with an explosion of emotion. "What kind of disciple am I, who denied and cursed Jesus in front of such a young Bija! Erah- Jesus, throw away everything and let's go catch some fish!"
A momentary mistake had only destroyed Peter's self-esteem. Jesus made Himself the Chief Disciple, and loved and cared for Him, but he completely betrayed Him. He also cursed Jesus in front of Jesus, so even if he is bad in the world, he has only been reduced to such a bad guy. My heart didn't do it, but while I was trying to save one's life, my pride was seriously damaged. And because of that wound, Peter chose the path of his own fall.
3. How to overcome the destroyed self-esteem?
Many people give up their lives, fall into depression, lose their conscience and become wild like beasts when their self-esteem is destroyed. Or, there are those who take revenge on those who have hurt their self-esteem. But revenge does not completely heal my destroyed self-esteem. On the contrary, if you look back on yourself as you do that, your self-esteem will be more damaged.
So how can I restore my destroyed self-esteem? All I can do is forgive the person who hurt my self-esteem. And it is to go to the cross of the Lord as it is in the state of destruction of self-esteem. The Lord has hurt his pride more than I did in his lifetime. Where else in the world can the Son of God be ridiculed, groan and die naked on the cross, where his self-esteem is so hurt? Why did the Son of God have to destroy his self-esteem so thoroughly?
It is to restore our self-esteem. So today's Bible says: "He was pierced for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities. The punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5). )
Gentlemen, Jesus is not a teacher who destroys our pride with his knowledge. Jesus is not a critic who tramples our pride by bringing our hidden sins out in front of everyone. Jesus is not an authority that ignores our pride by forcing us to follow Him with His authority.
Rather, Jesus wants to build our self-esteem with His knowledge, and He wants us to protect our self-esteem by forgiving our sins and covering our transgressions. Also, He wants us to restore our destroyed self-esteem by breaking even our own self-esteem on the cross.
Therefore, we can come to Jesus to be comforted and healed from the pain of our self-esteem being destroyed in this world. Jesus is the one who heals our wounds. He is the one who will surely restore you and your broken self-esteem. His healing power is the same yesterday, today, tomorrow, and forever. He restored the destroyed pride of so many people yesterday, and he restores it today.
He has the power to restore our destroyed self-esteem. Therefore, standing before him restores courage again. You will be refreshed again and you will be able to move forward. In a way, life is lived with the wounds that destroy our self-esteem every day. Moreover, if I suffer a wound of pride in a foreign land, the wound may last longer and drive me even more to ruin. But even here, if Jesus, who constantly restores our pride, is with us, we can overcome this great wound and move forward. I pray that these advances will continue until they reach the kingdom of heaven.
