Title: Where Are the Nine?
Contents
In today's text, the miraculous events of ten Hanse's disease patients being healed by the grace of Jesus are recorded. The fact that 10 leprosy patients appeared before Jesus in the text means that they came out prepared to be stoned. At that time, Hansen's disease patients had to shout that they were sick, and then people would throw stones to prevent them from approaching. The Lord heals 10 leprosy patients who came to Jesus with the determination to die. “Go and show your body to the priests.” - When Jesus proclaimed these words, no change has occurred yet. If you were healed, how easy would it be to go to the priest to show you that you are healed, and to be confirmed as a whole person? Ten patients obeyed the Word. On the way to the priest in obedience, a wonderful work of illness occurred. Gentlemen, when we believe and obey, the work of the Lord will happen.
Ten men were healed on their way to the priest. One of them did not go straight to the priest, but turned around and came to the Lord to give thanks. “Jesus, as I obeyed your word and went, my body was healed. Thank you very much. Thank you very much."
What is Jesus' response to receiving the thanks of those who have returned? Let's look at verse 17. “Jesus answered and said to them, Have not all ten been cleansed? Where are the nine?” “There are ten who were healed, but where did the nine go?” This is the word. What was the purpose of the Lord's words? If there is something to be thankful for, you should be grateful. Even though there is something to be thankful for, the reason we are not thankful is because our soul is dry.
So, what should we be thankful for?
First, I have to give thanks for the fact that I believed in Jesus and was saved.
This alone is a title enough to be grateful for. The grace of salvation is the most valuable subject of gratitude that can silence all complaints and resentment. The greatest thanks is that our Lord Jesus saved someone like me, I believe this is the greatest thanks.
Second, you should be grateful for what you take for granted.
Have you ever been grateful for waking up when you wake up in the morning? Have you ever been grateful for being someone you can talk to? It sounds good, did you appreciate it? There are people who want to see the countless stars in the night sky but cannot. Often times we don't take things for granted as something to be grateful for.
Third, we must believe and be thankful that He will work all things together for good in the future, even in the midst of adversity.
It is something anyone can do to be grateful for what to be grateful for and to resent what to blame. A believer's gratitude should not stay on this level. Sometimes you have to be able to say thank you even in situations where you are not grateful. If you give thanks on purpose, God will turn everything into a situation of gratitude. That is why gratitude becomes the strength to overcome adversity.
I would like to sincerely thank the Lord for his help over the past year. I hope that the lost gratitude will be restored. I hope that you will be grateful even if you create something you don't have. Thank you for the grace of salvation, thanks for living normally, looking forward to and thanking the Lord for turning those adversity into good even in the midst of adversity!! In the name of the Lord, I bless you in the name of the Lord to become grateful people who beautifully accomplish the Lord's will for you through gratitude, thanks, and thanksgiving every day.
