Title: Where Are You Going?
Contents
Jesus, who came to this earth, often said that He would return to the kingdom of God. However, the Lord said that when you go to the kingdom of God, you will not go in peace, but in great pain. Suffering here, of course, means suffering on the cross and death on the cross. Needless to say, His flesh and blood were given to men so that they might have eternal life. This is one of the gospels that we must keep in our hearts. The Lord Jesus suffered by being whipped and nailed to the cross in order to save someone like me.
To the Lord who was about to go to this scene of suffering, none of the disciples asked, “Where are you going?” Although the Lord had foretold that He would be crucified several times during that time, none of the disciples wanted to know why the Lord had to shed blood and tear his flesh. So the Lord is groaning.
A Christian who does not ask where the Lord is going is one who does not ask himself where he is going and where he is going. Also, those who do not try to understand the meaning of the Lord's flesh and blood that were torn and shed on the cross do not know the value of the new life that the Lord has given them. People like this, unable to get out of the prison called , have no choice but to live as slaves to useless worries. That is why the Lord says in verse 6. “On the contrary, because I have said these words, your hearts have been filled with sorrow.”
In the end, the disciples who did not ask and did not know where the Lord was going or why He was bleeding and torn flesh were all in fear and anxiety at the most decisive moment when the Lord was crucified for them. They fell and had no choice but to run away.
We should always look at ourselves and ask ourselves this question. “Lord, where are you going?”. Before this question, we must think about where we are going. Are you living the life the Lord wants you to, are you going the way the Lord wants you to, or are you locked in a prison called or are you going on a path led by greed, not the path the Lord wants?
If you ask, “Lord, where are you going?”, the Lord will answer you. “I am going to Rome to be crucified.” What we need to realize in this answer is that the very path is the path I am going to take. The way of the cross that the Lord has already walked for us... Today we must follow that path.
The sacrifice of the Lord who willingly forsook the glorious throne in heaven to save our lives and went to the cross for me because he loved me… This sacrifice saved me and saved us. “What road are you on today? Isn't it a life where I entrust the cross that I have to bear to the Lord and live my life only fulfilling my greed? Aren't you busy living your life only with the world's affairs?"
