Title [2.7] Where Are You Planted Tree?
Content 겨?Is it a tree?
(Psalm 1:1-6)
Today's text, Psalm 1, is full of good images of the spiritual life. Among them, I would like to pay special attention to the parable of "a tree planted by a stream" and "chaff blown by the wind." It is a very important issue whether we have the root of our life. What we and all of you need is to be more deeply rooted by the brook, so that spiritual life can fill us. If you have accepted Jesus as your Lord, you must become one with Him and change your life day by day. That is to take root deep in the stream.
So, what is life like a tree planted by a stream?
1. It is not imitating people who do not acknowledge God.
Verse 1 says that a person is blessed who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked. It means not following the thoughts of the wicked. In the Bible, the wicked, sinners, and proud people refer to those who do not acknowledge God. Please keep in mind that the wisdom of people who do not acknowledge God, that is, the wisdom of unbelievers, is built on the assumption that there is a God, and it is wise, reasonable, and practical to follow that wisdom, but it will always end in failure.
2. It is not standing in the way of sinners.
That is, we should not imitate the actions of those who do not acknowledge God. It is ‘power’ that dominates the lives of those who do not acknowledge God. Whether it is wealth, power, or education, we live as the greatest value in life, and it does not give us the true happiness of life and the joy and fulfillment of life. We must know that the happiness in life comes when we place our lives in the hands of the Lord, receive His care, and have spiritual communion with Him.
3. It is not sitting with people who do not acknowledge God.
This is not to say that we should cut off contact with people who do not believe in God. Even those who do not acknowledge God need our help because they must also believe in Jesus and be saved. Therefore, I am not saying to break the school, but not to assimilate. We need to know that the wicked will be judged by God after they die (verse 5). After death, the time comes when we must stand before God and report what kind of life the Lord has lived (Hebrews 9:27). A person who pursues the wisdom of the wicked, imitates the way of life of the wicked, and lives as a partner with the wicked is sure to face the same fate after death.
What are your plans for the year 2010? I hope you have at least one plan for your spiritual life in your plans for this year. So, don't miss out on the Bible study prepared by the church or the prayer meeting at the meeting. Through such time, you will be guided on the path to becoming a tree planted by the brook. May it be transformed into a tree that bears good fruit before it is too late.
