Title: Where Does Life Go?

(1 Peter 2:11-12)

If you compare the songs of young people these days with the songs sung by people in their 50s and 60s in the past, there is a striking difference. The old songs still had a lot of lyrics that contained the ultimate aspect of life and philosophical content, but these days, you can't find anything like that.

For example, if you look at lyrics such as {Boardboarder} or {Life is incomplete}, they often leave a lingering impression on you.

'Life is a traveler, where did it come from and where does it go?' 'Life is an unfinished letter to write' 'Life running in a vast wilderness, what are you looking for?' There were many lyrics that discussed life, values, and death and love in life.

However, if you look at the lyrics that teenagers and young people enjoy these days, they are all sensuous, subjective, realistic, and everyday stories, and most of them are improvised according to their own emotions.

Even if you see that this is a new song by Seo Taiji, you can see that he just mumbles whatever comes out according to his feelings.

"We are the youth / The truth to me who is always mean / Am I crazy? /

Yes everyone yes / yes everyone yes yes / yes I want to go crazy

/ Let's have an honest answer / There are no more heroes / Is it already dead?

For a long time / for a very long time / under that sun, the hero of this day is you..." etc. These are the lyrics that flow endlessly like this.

What do we really think about life here? Where do you really come from and where are you going?

Why do I exist, and how should I live?

I can't help thinking about this.

This life question has always been asked since the beginning of human history.

Also, the science that studies and pursues is called philosophy.

But who am I still in that philosophy? Why do I have to live?

I can't figure that out.

However, God's Word clearly addresses these issues.

1. Where does life go? You are talking about going towards death.

In verse 11 of today's text, it is said that life is like a stranger and a passerby.

He said, "I commend you who are like silver...."

and what are the properties?

It is not something that can stay in one place forever.

In the end, it is something you have to leave.

No matter how splendid all the kings and heroic heroes in the world, they all ended in death. People think that they are born to live the moment they are born, but people are marching towards death from the moment they are born. A day goes by, a month goes by, a year goes by, and 10 years go by, and when you reach 70-80, everything fades away. Today's red-eye boy will become a white-haired old man tomorrow and die. There is a poem like this in Chinese that discusses the impermanence of life.

"It's a life-changing dream/

In the postpartum period of Pyeongto Jaein (平土祭人散散) / It is called Dugyeonje Moon twilight (杜鵑啼月黃昏)"

'Come empty-handed and go empty-handed, it's a dream for a moment in the spring of life. Buried in the ground and going down, each dispersed, and in the moonlight only two birds were crying...'

Everyone! What a futile life! No matter how much money you have, it ends in death.

So, in Luke 12:20, the Lord said to the covetous man, "You fool, this night your soul will be required of you, and whose possessions are yours?

Therefore, the problem of death is a serious problem ahead of the problem of living.

But strangely, people only struggle, work, and study on the problem of life, and no one thinks about the problem of death that may come to pass even tonight. This is weird. Death is the public road that everyone in the world goes on. Explore the tombs buried in Bukmansan Cemetery. Who is lying there?

There is no distinction between rich and poor, noble, old and young, and beautiful.

All life is heading towards death like this. There is no one else to raise any other significance here. If life goes like this, then the next problem is the problem.

2. Where does life go? They say they are going to the judgment seat.

What happens after a person dies?

People say they don't know about this issue.

In some cases, it is said that it is returned to nature.

But the Bible clearly says. He said he would stand before the judgment seat.

Hebrews 9:27 says, "It is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment...".

After death, many people die saying they do not know.

There are some people who die saying it's over when they die.

After death there is judgment. And it must be so.

In this world we live in a mixture of truth and lies.

Joy (喜悲) and good and evil (善惡) are inverted (顚倒), and black and white (黑白) and blue and blue (淸濁) are confused.

But sooner or later you'll hear it all.

This is a dark time.

The Lord also said, "Now is your hour, and the power of darkness" in Luke 22:53 when delivering it into the hands of sinners. So now is the time for the wicked to prevail.

But the day will come when good and evil will be separated.

That is the day of judgment.

Everyone will be judged for their deeds.

① He is judged according to what he has done.

② You will be judged as he said.

③ He is judged as he thinks.

Romans 14:10, 12 says, "We will all stand before the judgment seat of God, so that each of us will give an account of ourselves to God."

But how are people thinking, speaking, and acting now?

On the contrary, the wicked shout out loud.

The unrighteous are rather prosperous.

The rotten and the stinky persecute the upright.

Therefore, in Ecclesiastes 8:11, it is written, “The hearts of men are bold to do evil, because punishment for an evil deed is not quickly executed.”

It is true. Therefore, there must be a judge in the end.

Therefore, when a person dies, everyone stands before the judgment seat. Where do you go after judgment?

3. Where does life go? He said he would go to a place where he would live forever.

It doesn't go away when a person dies.

It leads to eternity through judgment.

All life goes to an eternal place.

This eternity (永遠) is eternity even if we live and eternity even if we die.

The nature of the soul does not disappear.

Just as I was yesterday and I am today, I who was before my body will exist even after this body is gone and I die.

So I am forever.

I, who was before eternity, appeared in the flesh and lived as a stranger for 70-80 years, and when I die, I am transferred to an eternal place.

However, this understanding of eternity is wrong.

They think that this life is eternal.

We must understand eternity according to the words of the Bible.

God is eternal. Angels are forever.

Life that is created in the image of God, who is eternal, is also eternal.

But there are two eternities before life.

There is eternal life and eternal death.

Heaven is the place to live forever, and hell is the place to die forever.

So you have to believe in Jesus.

Because Jesus Christ is eternal life.

Those who believe in him are given eternal life.

Eternal life is Jesus Christ Himself.

In 1 John 5:11, "And this is the testimony, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life, and he who does not have the Son of God has life. There is none." It is clearly written.

Who does son mean here?

Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

Therefore, those who have accepted Jesus Christ already have eternal life. He said that he who does not have Jesus Christ has no eternal life.

That is why death reigns over those who have a son, and eternal life reigns over those who have a son.

That's why John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."

In this way, eternal life is the blessing of grace given to those who believe in the Son of God. This is the Christian view of salvation.

Therefore, I, who was in God's will before eternity, came to the world by God's providence and lived a life of a sojourner, and then I returned to the eternal place.

This is a very natural fact.

And yet, how many people still do not know where life is going? They are all pitiful creatures.

So, the writer of Proverbs calls this knowledge wisdom. It is said that wisdom will be desired more than gold.

And "Who's the fool?" They say that there is no God. What do I do if I study without knowing where I came from or where I am going, what will I do if I earn money, and what good will it be if I get a career? is to do

There is no path as frightening and unsettling as the case where one does not know which way to go.

So, there are many people who live their life insecure.

How many people live in fear of death?

In the face of death, both generals and rulers are trembling in fear.

It is said that when death comes, the spirit is purified.

It is said that the world of the spirit, which was invisible with the physical eyes, can be seen.

So, there are those who cry out in fear before death.

I am so scared and trembling that I scream. The face is distorted.

However, peace and stillness reside in the faces of those who believe in them.

I go with a smile. Why?

Because the road leading to eternal life is being opened.

John 14:1-3 says, "Do not let your hearts be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions. Otherwise I would have told you. I will make a place for you. to prepare

I go and prepare a place for you, and I will come again and receive you to myself, that where I am, you may be also."

And 2 Corinthians 5:1-7 says, “If our tent-house on earth is destroyed, we have a house made by God, an eternal house in heaven, not built with hands,” he said. So now we have two eternities before us.

There is eternity to live forever, and eternity to die forever.

So where are we going now? Is it death? is it life?

Realize the fundamental truth of life right away, do not spend time in vain,

I hope that we can enter the kingdom of eternal life by living by faith within.
