Title: Where Is Your Faith? (Luke 8:22)

where is your faith

Luke 8:22-25

In South America there is the Galapagos Archipelago, which is made up of large and small islands along the coast. Because it is far from the continent, it is a place where animals cannot come and go, so it is said that it is a place that is protected as a biologically important area where a lot of rare animals and plants that cannot be seen in other areas grow. Among the birds that live here, there is a bird called [Kormorantz]. This bird, oddly enough, is a flightless bird with enough wings to fly. Ornithologists have studied why. He then revealed that the result was that there were no birds in [the Galapagos Islands] that could rival or compete with this bird. Therefore, there was no need to use wings because there was no need to risk their lives to avoid or chase them, and also because they did not use wings because they could eat as much as they could just by walking without having to fly. that it has been

Whether it be an animal, a plant or a person, it is so important that he asks “Where do you live?” Depending on the environment I'm in, I can become a shabby figure that can't fly even with nice wings. However, humans are more affected by the environment. Therefore, most people are adapted to live well in any environment. If you take someone who used to live in the sweltering heat of the equator and bring them to the cold regions of Alaska, at first it may seem like they will not survive and they will freeze to death. Adapting well to the environment would mean the same as being greatly influenced by the environment. So it's common to see things that the environment makes people in general.

You will know the famous. I live near a cemetery, and I play only by mimicking the funeral of a young Mencius. So I moved to the market, and this time I just pretend to be a merchant every day. So, it is a story of moving a house near the school and studying. Where do you live? This is a story to represent the importance of growing up in an environment.

Then we think about it now. Where should believers live? have to live in Faith must come alive in the land of faith, where faith must grow, and the wings of faith must be flapped at any time in the land of faith. So, today, the most important question we have to ask ourselves again and again is, “Where is my faith?” We have to live by checking the place where that faith stands from time to time.

Today, Jesus is asking his disciples a very important question: “Where is your faith?” Why would the Lord ask such a question to the disciples who followed Him? Even though they have already abandoned their boats, their nets, their families and everything and followed the Lord, they are asking the disciples again. “Where is your faith?” What does this question mean today? It has great implications for us today as well. Just because my nickname is Christian, and I go to church diligently, I am telling you to put away the illusion that I am living in the land of faith. Let's say that the body is always in the chapel from time to time, and the mind is always in the church even when the body is not present. But that alone does not mean that I am not conceited that I live in the land of faith. What really matters is where your faith is. Where is that belief taking root?

If you think about it, the trials we face are seldom too great to be overcome. We cannot win because our faith is not enough. Please think in retrospect. It wasn't that I was frustrated because the adversity was unbearable. We were desperate because our faith did not reach us.

As the Lord got into the boat, He clearly said to His disciples, “Let's cross over to the other side of the lake.” That's all it takes. You have to have faith in these words. He didn't say, "Let's go to the middle of the sea and die together in the storm." If you had heard it with your trusted ears, you should have heard the words, “I will take care of you until you go to the other side of the lake.” Did you ever get on a boat to kill everyone? But the disciples did not listen to Jesus' words. Then they meet in the middle of the sea, and the storm is too big and they are confused. The truth is that if you live with the words of the Lord insignificant, the winds and storms will inevitably appear great. Not a single word from the Lord is insignificant. It will become a vessel of blessing, a vessel of opportunity, and a vessel of joy and peace. When you say, “Stretch out your hand,” He will heal your dry hands, and “Go to Siloam and wash” opens your eyes. “Seek first the kingdom and its righteousness” means that he will take responsibility for everything else. Should such precious words be insignificant?

Just before Jesus and his disciples got into the boat, Jesus' mother and brothers came to see him. However, there were so many people around Jesus that we could not meet him. Then someone tells Jesus that his mother and brothers have come. At that time, the Lord said, “My mother and my brothers are these people who hear the word of God and do it.” People who argue about Jesus over this part are people who do not know their parents or who are inhumans who do not even know their brothers. There is, but it is not. Now Jesus intends to tell you what is important. Faith is that it is not important to be flesh and blood with Jesus. In other words, being a disciple of Jesus is not important. It is saying that positions are not important even in the church today. I am not talking about becoming a butler and a kwonsa. What positions are important when you have no work? The ministry is only a snare for those who divide or promote divisions in the church, and who engage in dissent or work. What is really important is to receive the Word carefully, to be sure, and to act. Our faith must be anchored in the Lord and His Word.

There was a car accident. The perpetrators, the driver and the victim, stood in court. What the driver says, “Judge, that person was injured by mistake. I am a person with 30 years of exemplary driving experience.” Hearing this, the victim responds back and says, “Judge, if that person has 30 years of driving experience, I have 50 years of walking experience.”

Dear saints!

Please do not boast about how much you believe in Jesus. What matters is where you put that belief. If our proud belief is no different from that of a hit-and-run driver who habitually commits countless accidents and runs away, it is a false belief.

Today we ask the Lord to ask ourselves this question once again: “Where is my faith?”
