Title: Where Will Christ Be Born?
2010.12.19 Sunday morning worship service
Bible: Matthew 2:4-6
Title: Where Will Christ Be Born?
Matthew 2:4-6 ‘4. The king gathered all the high priests and the scribes of the people together and asked where the Christ was born. 5. He said, “Bethlehem, Judea, as it is written by the prophet, 6. And you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judea, are not the least among the towns of Judea. for he has said that he will come out and be the shepherd of my people Israel.' -Amen.
There is no evidence that Jesus was born on December 25th. The only date set by Pope Liberius of the Roman Catholic Church in the year 354 was only the adoption of December 25 of the Great Feast from December 24 to January 6 of the following year, the winter solstice in Rome. It has absolutely nothing to do with the Bible.
The coming of Jesus Christ to this earth is undoubtedly the greatest day in human history, but there is no such date, and there is no biblical basis for observing Christmas like the so-called birthday celebration. However, the old custom has settled culturally like truth, and Christmas is approaching again this year without fail. We would like to share grace with the main theme of the text, <Where will Christ come from?>.
1. Born of Christ
Because the world only sees them as people, I say that I am one of the world's four adults. In the religious world, Christian leaders or heretics view Jesus as a prophet for free. Some teachers even curse Jesus.
Matthew 2:4 says, “The king gathers all the chief priests and the scribes of the people, where is the Christ from?”
Although Herod is a wicked man, the Jews seem to know that the long-awaited one will come into the world in the name of Christ. The meaning of Christ is the Hebrew word for Messiah, which means savior.
Whether you enjoy Christmas or rejoice at Christmas, you should at least know the full knowledge of the person of Jesus and the role of His historical existence during the Christmas season that He came as Christ. Jesus came as the Christ, the very savior. There was and will not be anyone except Jesus who came into the world and came in the name of Christ in history. The name of Christ is the ministry that will lead our souls and bodies to salvation and eternal life. At the very least, you must know him as the Lord Jesus, who came to this earth with such a great title.
2. The scheduled birth
All of the people born into this world know a lot or learn a lot after being born, so they become a teacher or a gentleman. It is said that the disciple of Confucius respected his master and supported him through life. This means that he was born knowing everything at birth, so he was not born knowing that he was not.
However, in the Old Testament, before Jesus was born, from a certain family, under certain circumstances, He did certain things, died, rose, ascended into heaven, and even the Second Coming. .
Matthew 2:5 “They said, ‘Bethlehem, Judea, as it is written by the prophets’
Romans 1:2 “This gospel is what God promised in advance through the prophets concerning his Son” (Acts 3:18).
Therefore, Christianity is a religion that believes in the word of God, not the words of man. Christ Jesus who came also came as prophesied, and the coming of the Second Coming will also come according to the prophecy.
3. Coming as a ruling shepherd
Jesus is not just one person to be chosen among many religions, but He came as the King of kings who came to rule the world over religion and life.
Matthew 2:6 “…a ruler will come out of you, and he will be the shepherd of my people Israel…”
Just believing that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah who came to redeem us, does not fulfill the meaning of Christmas. Now, Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life, and I have to put him at the center of my life in the global village and become the king.
Jesus must come as the shepherd and be the leader of our lives and the king of our lives. Many people come to Jesus out of necessity to pray and receive blessings, saying that it is good. However, Jesus is not the one to be treated like that, but the Judge and King of kings, who must be treated as King forever.
There is a king of his own country in the world. But we do know that we do not have the right wages for health. Even the kings of Israel in the Old Testament did not have a proper leader, and no one was perfect in history.
But Jesus will be our King forever, the perfect and almighty King. I believe that this person becomes a person of blessing when we become obedient subjects and servants to rule as kings in our lives.
With the Christmas season and the year-end and New Year holidays, society is prone to corruption at this time. Why? This is because there is a problem with the establishment of the feast of Christmas and Jesus, the protagonist of Christmas, has not been properly introduced.
Now we know the Lord Jesus Christ with the right knowledge, and know that He will be our eternal King after He came to this earth, and that those who live by His word will become His people, so that we can exalt and rejoice in the Lord Jesus the most during the Christmas season. Congratulations to you and me.
