White Throne Judgment/Revelation 20:11-15
The living grown up means the saints who have been transformed into a glorious body at the end of the Millennium Kingdom, and the dead mean those who will be resurrected all at once from the grave. (John 5:28,29) “Do not marvel at this, for the hour is coming when all who are in the graves will hear his voice, and those who have done good will come out to a resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to a resurrection of judgment.” The fork in Hell is decided in this White Throne Judgment.
In Matthew 25:34, Jesus said, “Then the king will say to those on his right hand, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world’. However, those who ignore this word and do not receive the Son will be cursed and will be thrown into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels (Matthew 25:34-41). Through today's Word, let's look at how the White Throne Judgment is accomplished and share the grace.
white throne of judgment
After casting the devil into the lake of fire through the battle of Armageddon, God sits on a great white throne and executes judgment. It depicts the impeccable purity of God inaccessible to man in white. There is no specific record of where the throne is, but it is clearly not on earth. At this time, the millennium kingdom had already disappeared, and the earth and the heavens had escaped from before him, and there was nothing (11). However, it cannot be said that the place where the throne is located is heaven. Because it is the judgment that decides whether it is Hell or Heaven. This is a place in heaven where God will judge the living and the dead.
The earth and heaven have already disappeared, but the throne is still there. It shows that the heavenly throne is permanent, and the harlot, the beast, the false prophet, and the dragon are completely gone. It is God who sits on the throne. The subject of judgment is God. Here we question the role of Jesus. There is no mention of Jesus in the Bible today. But God and Jesus are the same even though they are not here. (John 5:22) “The Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son.” If you look at the Bible in front of and behind the scenes, you can see that Jesus is acting on behalf of the judgment.
Around him, the dead, great and small, stood before the throne. The entire human race is subject to judgment. It is at this time that the resurrection of mankind takes place. Regarding the resurrection of the dead, premillennialism separates the resurrection of believers from the resurrection of unbelievers. The first resurrection had already occurred before the millennium. The second resurrection will occur after the Millennium. (Rev 20:4,5) “And I saw thrones, and those who sat on them were given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and the beast and his image. Those who did not worship him and did not receive his mark on their foreheads or on their hands lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years (and the rest of the dead did not live until the thousand years were finished), which is the first resurrection. The second resurrection is the resurrection of those” after a thousand years.
In the words “and the dead, great and small, stood before the throne” (12), among all the dead from Adam to the second coming of the Lord, those excluded from the first resurrection are “all great and small”. So, in simple terms, it can be called the resurrection of unbelievers. They were resurrected and stood before the throne of judgment.
standard of judgment
Each will be judged according to his deeds. The standard is based on what is recorded in the two books. (John 5:27-29) “And because of His mercy He has given authority to judge. Do not marvel at this, for the hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear His voice, and those who have done good will receive resurrection of life, and those who have done evil will receive judgment. I will come out in the resurrection.” It clearly tells us that the judgment is based on works. In front of the white throne is the book of works in which people are judged according to their works according to what is written in the books, and the book of life for the reward of the saints.
For the saints whose names are written in the book of life, the crown of heavenly reward will be decided at this time. This reward will be awarded fairly by a commemorative book in which all the religious lives of the saints are recorded. (Mal 3:16) “At that time those who feared the LORD spoke to one another, and the LORD heard it clearly, and wrote it in a book of remembrance before the LORD for those who fear the LORD and honor his name.” This is the reason why you should do the Lord's work and lead a faithful life when you are living your life of faith in this world.
The last dreadful judgment is the second death. According to their deeds, after the judgment of the White Throne is over, death and Hades will be thrown into the lake of fire. Now, all the visible history of this world has come to an end. Death was no more, and Hades (the tomb) was useless. These things have tormented our lives and caused sorrow, lamentation and tears, but now they are no longer needed, so at this time, they are thrown together into the eternal lake of fire. There is no death and hell in heaven. The second death is death and even Hades being thrown into the lake of fire. At the same time, anyone whose name is not in the book of life is thrown into the lake of fire. It means being thrown into hell.
Dear saints!
The White Throne Judgment is the final judgment of mankind. Because of this judgment, all earthly history will come to an end. Human history, which began with Adam, has been stained with sin, death, tears, disease, and suffering. But God has given us unspeakable grace and love to deliver us from that death. The White Throne Judgment is the judgment showing the very final result.
Judgment against the people who defy God's love to the end and follow Satan, the enemy of God, is inevitable. God declares to these, “And he will say to them on the left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels’ (Matthew 25:41). We know how to live the rest of our lives as faithful saints, waiting for the return of the Lord while looking at the hope of reward at this final white throne judgment.
