Title: Who's Your Neighbor? (Luke 10:25-37)
Contents A certain lawyer came to Jesus and was having a conversation, and Jesus told a parable about love for neighbor. In this parable, there is true neighborly love.
1. a person who harms a neighbor like a robber
The Bible says to love your neighbor as yourself, but there are many people who harm their neighbors. In the parable, the robber harmed another's life and stole a neighbor's property and ran away. Nearly all of the neighbors who encountered the robber were killed. In our society, it would be better not to have people who live harming others like robbers. The life of such a person is truly unfortunate. However, the surprising fact is that it is happening a lot among the most hopeful young people.
2. A priest like a Levite
The priests and the Levites were ignorant and indifferent when they saw a neighbor who had been robbed by a man who was supposed to benefit others as religious leaders. Such a person is indifferent to his neighbor for his own sake. It is only a hypocrite that the law of neighbor love is not carried out to those who know me more than anyone. He evaded responsibility even though he had to help the person he met with a robber, so knowing what is good and not doing it is a sin.
3. A person who practiced love of neighbor
A Samaritan passed by the man who had been hit by the robber, heard a groan and rescued him. He put his precious wine on the wound, put it on a donkey, had him go to an inn to heal him, and he promised to pay the necessary money. He truly became a person who practiced love for his neighbor as himself. This is what society needs. Today, we Christians should practice love for our neighbor in this way.
