Title: Who Are the Children of God?

Contents

who are children of God

Romans 8:12-17

However, there are times when people stick their teeth to the parents who made them who they are today. Sometimes we have a lot to learn from the wild beast.

That's why Isaiah 1:3 says, "The ox knows its owner, and the donkey its owner's manger, but Israel does not know, and my people do not understand."

We are children of God. How should God's children live? We must live without forgetting God's grace. The tragedy of Israel was that they had forgotten the grace of God that should not be forgotten. They forgot the grace of salvation from slavery. I forgot the grace that saved me from death. I forgot the grace that protected and blessed me. It was a failure, and it was the cause of the failure.

Verse 12 of today's text says, "Therefore, brethren, we are debtors." What kind of light do you have from God, and can you live like that? is the word. That's not to say you can't live like that.

Today, we owe the Lord a debt of love equal to ten thousand talents, which we cannot repay in our own strength. How can I pay the debt that He suffered for me by dying on the cross for me? We believe that we, as children, always live faithfully to the Lord in the image of the debtor.

Today's text clearly shows how God's children, who have been saved through faith in Jesus Christ, should live. “If you live according to the flesh, you will surely die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.”

First, in a negative sense, we must not live according to the flesh.

Here we can find two reasons why we should not live according to the flesh. One is because he is indebted to God, and the other is because he dies.

There are many sad scenes in the Bible, and one of them is Samson. Samson was a Nazarite, and he was set apart from birth, and he was a warrior with great power. Even now, Samson is said to be synonymous with strength.

How could Samson have strength in the hair of his head? It was the Holy Spirit who made it powerful. God has given you tremendous power. He became a debtor to God. But Samson used the strength, power, appearance, and various blessings that the Holy Spirit had given him according to his flesh. Even though we owe a huge debt to God, we could not live according to God's will. Rather, he used that power for the lusts of the flesh. As a result, he fell into Delilah's temptation and became a prisoner of his enemies, and his eyes fell out. In the end, he lost his strength and became the object of ridicule of his enemies.
