Title: Who Became You? (Galatians 3:1-6)
Contents
This week is the week containing "8.15 Liberation Day", the 64th anniversary of our nation's liberation from the 36 years of colonial life under Japanese rule.
Today, the word "stupid" is repeated in Bonmon. Because our people were foolish, we had to lose our country for 36 years and lead a colonial life.
Liberation is the greatest hope and the most precious thing for those who are bound. Now that our nation has fulfilled that hope with God's grace and blessing, there will be no need to be subjected to a yoke of slavery again.
But if we think about it, we are still in a position to be liberated from many things. Starting from a physical illness, hurting emotions, oppression, pain, material problems, wrong relationships, etc., countless things bind us. Through this time today, I pray that you will be set free from all shackles in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
What I want to share with you this time today is freedom from temptation. Seducing and tempting are everywhere. There will be countless temptations that people face while living in this world. Temptation is alike for believers and unbelievers. We are faced with temptation when we open our eyes. There are cases in which a weak heart falls into temptation even though it was not the original intention, and they unintentionally do disappointing things, and there are times when they are in desperate need of regret.
Temptation comes strong and temptation comes softly and softly. They use pressure, threats, or even slap their tails. But no matter how it comes, temptation comes to overthrow us. It is the devil's trick to make people fall into humanism and convenience, which eventually makes faith difficult and collapses.
The Galatians were foolish Christians who were easily swayed by other doctrines. What is hated is the twister. The evil one will be the one who seduces. However, those who easily fall for kinks are also not without problems. Even now, twisters abound everywhere. It is not a matter of making excuses and shifting responsibility to those who are twisted. We must be careful not to succumb to temptation or to succumb to ourselves.
Be especially wary of religious temptations.
The first thing to note is the temptation that everyone is the same. This kind of religion and that kind of religion are all the same, so there is no need to be a Christian in particular, and there is no need to believe in Jesus. It is a religious pluralism that is infiltrating the minds of modern people in the late 20th and 21st centuries. Religion is the temptation to say that all religions are the same. Salvation is not only found in Christianity, but also in all religions, all disciplines, and all disciplines. When you get to the point, it's all the same. However, even though Jesus Christ spoke of love and forgiveness like that, He practiced love and forgiveness while taking up the cross, and spoke of tolerance, salvation is "the only thing you say is me". He said that I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me. I am the bread of life, I am the living water, and I am the light. The Bible acknowledges all diversity, but only speaks of Jesus Christ.
The second religious temptation is the temptation to take the easy way and the shortcut.
It's a twist on why you really need to believe in Jesus so hard. It offers an easy way. It says the shortcut. You can be saved even if you are less zealous, but why do you have to work so hard? But Jesus Christ did not live that way, nor did he say so. Jesus Christ did not escape suffering. Moreover, he did not say that there would be no suffering for us. Rather, he said that because you have received grace, you must also suffer hardships. He said that there are many tribulations in the world, but be strong and courageous. He also said that you will overcome the world just as I overcame the world.
The third is the temptation of heretical pseudo-sects.
I'll make you believe me better. I will guarantee a more sure salvation. It is a temptation of heresies and cults that spread only to those who believe.
Beware of Bible studies outside the church or theology studies that are offered free of charge.
Now the Korean church is suffering because of heresy cults. Many of the church disputes are promoted by heresy cults.
If so, would the CCK have set a heresy warning Sunday since 2005 and have churches reinforce education against heresy cults every year?
If you are deceived by heresy cults, you will be ruined first. And the family, school life, work life, and personal relationships are all destroyed.
From the beginning, we do not approach heretics. It hides the snake's tail and approaches with a smile. However, once caught, it will reveal its true nature.
We Christians are always exposed to the temptations of moral and ethical sins that are not mentioned today, the temptations of greed and fornication, gambling, drinking, and all kinds of worldly temptations. Not only that, but you may be the parish of temptation yourself, rather than someone twisted. God said that he would find the price for his sins from the tempter, and he promised that he would surely find the price for his blood.
We believe that we should neither give in to temptation nor be one who tempts ourselves. No one will stop this temptation on your behalf. We must rely on the Lord ourselves and overcome temptation.
The Galatians were entangled in the lessons they first heard and their initial resolutions and decisions. After hearing the word of God and gaining salvation, they returned to the law and started with the Holy Spirit, but returned to the fleshly thoughts. We live in a flood of advertisements. So, you must have had the experience of buying something you don't really need in an instant through advertisements even though you had no intention of buying any product at all. But how can it be just an advertisement for a product? There are many kinds of temptations, pitfalls and twists about faith. In the midst of this, I pray in the name of the Lord that you will ponder today's Word and become strong Christians against any religious temptation or religious temptation.
Through today's Word, God is asking us, "Who deceived you?" Who deceived you, what deceived you, and how did you deceive you that you forsaken the grace of the cross? Have you forsaken prayer? Did you lose your worship? Have you lost the truth? Have you given up thanks? Have you forgotten God? What on earth has deceived you, and who has deceived you that you have turned away from God? Have you moved away from the church? Have you turned away from the shepherd?
You are asking this time.
Those who practice the gospel of Jesus Christ and hold onto the cross of Jesus Christ will be set free from temptation. It will be harder than picking a star in the sky to seduce a believer who will only love and boast about the gospel of Jesus and the cross.
So, I pray in the name of the Lord that you can hear the words "Well done" instead of "You are stupid."
