Title: Who Do You See Jesus as?

Content The most important thing in your life of faith is who you think Jesus is. It is because it is not an exaggeration to say that a person's destiny depends on who he sees Jesus as. The fact that people refer to Jesus as John the Baptist, Elijah, and Jeremiah helps us to guess what Jesus' ministry was like. But they misunderstood Jesus. Despite seeing the miracles of Jesus, hearing the gospel he preached, and following Jesus, they could not confess that “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” They followed Jesus as a good teacher, a saint who gives instruction, and a good person who provides food, but that is not enough.

When Jesus asked his disciples, "Who do you say I am?" Peter said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." That's right. Our Jesus is the Christ. The word ‘Christ’ is a Greek word, but in Hebrew it is ‘Messiah’. It means being anointed with oil. In the Old Testament, being anointed with oil had a special meaning. He anointed three kinds of people.

First, they anointed a king with oil. Believing that Jesus is the Christ is like confessing that Jesus is our King. King means rule. Jesus is the King of my life, my life, my family, my job, my finances and everything. Second, they anointed the prophets. A prophet is someone who knows what will happen in advance and informs them about it. If Jesus is our prophet, then Jesus is the one who guides us today and tomorrow. Third, he anointed the priests with oil. A priest was a person who brought the sins of the people and went before God to sacrifice the sins of the people to God. In other words, it means that Jesus is the one who connects the hand of the holy God with me, who has fallen into sin.

In addition, it is a confession that Jesus is “the Son of the living God”. The key word here is ‘the living God’. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is a God who is still at work. He is God with us. He is the one who came to this earth as Immanuel to be with us.

Do not forget that Jesus is still alive and is with us. If Jesus were God, what would be the problem with walking on water, and what would be the problem with dying and coming back to life? If Jesus is God, how difficult would it be to heal an incurable disease? When we believe that Jesus is God, the entire Bible begins to believe. If I believe that Jesus is God, miracles will begin to happen within me. He is the one who died on the cross for me. His salvation never changes. Because He is my God.

There are many special people around us. However, flesh and blood cannot achieve salvation. Flesh and blood cannot make a true confession of faith. Faith, that is, how I see and confess Jesus, can be the decisive thing that determines my whole life and even eternal life.

Today we are led by the Holy Spirit to the church. However, some of us have come with many problems and pains, and there are others who do not. Now again, let us confess Jesus, the Christ, the Son of the living God who is with us now. Declare by faith that He is the One who can solve all my problems.
