Title: Who is God? (Isaiah 41:8-13)
Contents
We refer to our era today as an era of uncertainty. No one knows when or where it will happen. There is someone who can give us comfort and hope in these modern times. He is God. The situation at that time was a dire situation for the people of Israel. In the future, they will be destroyed by foreign powers, taken captive, and live in a miserable environment. The only way out of such an environment is through God. At this time, God is trying to bring forth grace together with the word Iran.
1. God who calls (9)
(I call you from the corner of the earth and say to you, You are my servant; I have chosen you)
To whom in life are you called and chosen? Depending on it, your outlook on life may change. In this verse, Israel is said to be called from the corner of the earth. The corners of the land are out of interest. The corner of the earth is a useless party. The fact that God has called me from the corner of the earth means that God has called the useless and insignificant people of Israel. This is God's love and blessing.
Dear saints! Just as the people of Israel were saved from a miserable and hopeless state, so are we. He called us, the poor and poor, and made us children of God and servants of God.
2. God who sustains us (10)
(I will uphold you with my righteous right hand)
We all know that when a mother holds her child's hand at the crosswalk, it is for the safety of the child. The same is true. The God we believe in knows our weaknesses. He knows our shaking and knows that we are sick and suffering. He knows that we are in tribulation, and He knows that we are groaning in frustration and disappointment.
Dear saints! He knows us well and wants to help us. God knows us well, so He wants us to hold onto us with His powerful hand. Why? 'Cause I can't live without help
3. God Helps (13)
(I will say to you, Fear not, I will help you.)
Repeated three times in verses 10, 13, and 14, God promises to help Israel. In fact, the people of Israel, who are powerless, weak, and have nowhere to turn like earthworms, have nothing but fear. God, who is well aware of their pitiful plight and situation, first says, “Do not be afraid,” and promises to help them.
Dear saints! No matter what state I am in, no matter what difficulties I am faced with, even if I am in a state of being ridiculed and ridiculed like an earthworm, Almighty God can help.
