Title: Who is Jesus? /Matthew 1:18-25

Content We Christians, who are celebrating Christmas, really need to know “Who is Jesus?”

You must know Jesus for sure to keep this Christmas properly.

On the day Jesus was born, the voices of angels were resounding in the heavens of Bethlehem, Judea.

"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased."

Clearly, Jesus came to bring joy and peace to this earth.

But today, rather than joy and peace, we are drenched in wars, earthquakes, famines, and worries.

Why did this happen?

It is because they did not properly know the Lord who came as the Lord of love.

So today, in order to get to know Jesus well, "Who is Jesus?" We would like to receive grace by thinking together under the title.

In Philippians 3:8, the Apostle Paul said, “Because the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ is the noblest.”

(1 Corinthians 2:2) "Because I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified."

This is because knowing Jesus rightly is such a central and fundamental task in our religious life.

So who is Jesus? I would like to say three things.

He has three names: ①Jesus, ②Christ, and ③Emmanuel.

The first name Jesus is his real name, and the meaning of his name is “to save”.

This signifies the mission of Jesus to save all mankind.

The second name, Christ, means “the anointed one” of Jesus, which means the office of Jesus.

The third name, Immanuel, means “with us” and means the qualifications to be the only begotten Son of God.

1. He is the one who will save us from our sins.

Jesus means savior, which means the mission of Jesus.

God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to this earth to save all people from sin through Him.

The mission of Jesus is to save all mankind from their sins.

However, there are not many people who believe and accept Jesus as their Savior.

Few people know that Milton is a poet, Kant is a philosopher, Beethoven is a musician, and that Leonard da Vinci and Michelangelo are world-famous artists, but who knows that Jesus is the Savior who came to save all mankind.

Also, there are many people who think of Jesus as a great man, a philosopher, a saint, a moral man, and a social activist, but it is very wrong.

Jesus is our Savior.

The prophet Isaiah prophesied that Jesus would bear the sins of mankind and suffer on the cross 700 years before Jesus was born.

(Isaiah 53:5) "He was pierced for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed."

We must once again draw a clear picture of Jesus hanging high on the cross on Mount Calvary at this time.

And I must confess and believe that Jesus, who shed the hot redemptive blood on the cross, is my Savior.

(John 1:12) "To all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God..."

2. He is Christ (1:16)

Christ is the name of the office of Jesus, meaning “the anointed one”.

Among the Israelites, there are three kinds of anointed ones: kings, priests, and prophets.

This means that Jesus is King, Priest, and Prophet.

(Matthew 2:2) "Where is he who is born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east, and we have come to worship him."

(Matthew 27:11) When Jesus was questioned by the governor Pilate, when Pilate asked, "Are you the king of the Jews?" Jesus answered, "You are right."

When Jesus came to this world, he overcame death and ascended to heaven by resurrection, his kingship became the mediator.

(Rev 11:15) "And the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of the world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign forever and ever."

A king is the supreme ruler.

Only Jesus can judge the world at the end.

Also, Jesus is the priest who atoned for our sins.

Who gave his life for the forgiveness of man's sins?

Buddhist Shakyamuni? Confucius of Confucianism? Muhammad too? which witch? no.

Only Jesus gave His life to save us from our sins.

(Psalm 110:4) "The LORD has sworn and will not change, saying, Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek."

Jesus has a mission not only as a priest, but also as a prophet.

(Mark 6:3-4) "Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James and Joseph and Judas and Simon? Aren't his sisters here with us?" And they rejected Jesus. Jesus said to them, There is no prophet without respect except in his own hometown, in his relatives, and in his own household."

3. This is Immanuel.

Immanuel is a name for the character of Jesus, meaning God is with us.

In other words, the word of God became flesh.

It means that you came to be human.

In other words, Jesus is both God and man. He is both man and God. means. We must know and believe this mysterious truth right away.

The truth that became flesh in the city is the truth among the most mysterious and greatest truths in this world.

In order for a person to truly understand someone's pain, he must be in that person's position.

Therefore, to know the true pain of human beings, one must become a human being.

God personally experienced human suffering and suffering and came to this world as the Word in order to save mankind.

As we celebrate Christmas Sunday in 1997, today we can see what Jesus is like.

Knowing who you really are, I pray in the name of the Lord that you will truly glorify God this Christmas and have a Christmas filled with peace and joy in all our hearts and families.

In Matthew 16:15, Jesus said to his disciples, "Who do you say I am?" asked.

Peter said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.

It is,” he confessed.

This concludes today's talk.

Dear saints,

Jesus is our Savior.

Jesus is the King of kings and the High Priest who forgives all our sins.

Therefore, through faith in Jesus Christ, all our sins are forgiven and we have the power to become children of God.

Please believe that Jesus is the Son of God who is with us forever, even to the end of the world.

This same Jesus was born for you and me, who will suffer in our sins on this very Christmas Day.

On this Christmas Day, we must make a Christmas of blessing where we all receive Jesus together so that God's grace, heavenly peace, and fullness may be in the whole world.

We, Christians, should take the lead and understand the meaning of this Christmas and who Jesus is, so that this Christmas can be holy and full of joy, peace, and peace.

In Christianity, the day of Jesus' birth is called Christmas, and now in Buddhism, the day when Shakyamuni was born is called Christmas.

It does not mean that you will become Christmas if you follow it.

In Catholicism, the day of the birth of Mary is called Christmas.

For Christmas, only the day Jesus was born under heaven can the word Christmas be used.

I pray in the name of the Lord that this year's Christmas will be filled with heavenly peace and joy in your families.
