Who touched the Lord's garments?
Mark 5:25-34
We say we believe in God. However, worship and prayer that we claim to be to God are too formal and hypocritical. It is worth considering whether we are foolish believers who are satisfied with only keeping prayer and worship times. If God is truly present in our worship with our eyes and voice, and receives our worship and prayers, what should that worship look like? How should prayer be? What should praise look like?
Verses 25-26 describe the woman's pain. I have lived a difficult and painful life with bleeding for 12 years. It must have been a life of pain and longing. This woman comes to Jesus. However, there are many obstacles and difficulties before meeting Jesus. A large crowd surrounds Jesus. Not only that, the fact that many sick people cannot show or report their illness as if they had been healed made this woman unable to stand before Jesus.
Looking at this woman, we realize how grateful we are to be able to say that we are sick when we are sick. Even when we face hardships and difficulties, there are people around us who have heartaches that we cannot even tell our families. This woman is empty-handed and alone. Only someone can hold on to you. No family, no friends, no hope and no motivation. Finally, touch the hem of the Lord's robe. There is no more place to escape and nowhere to run. Whether we live or die, there is only the Lord. A miracle happened to this woman. Some people believe in themselves. But when you break down, you have nowhere else to go. How miserable are you?
You must have come here holding the hand of Jesus Christ. Do you know how precious and precious it is to hold the bloody hand of Jesus? If we hold onto the clothes of the Lord, there is happiness and healing. The gates of heaven open. Perhaps you will ask this woman whether she begged for Jesus' hands or feet, or for his life. But this woman believed that she would be healed if she held onto the hem of the Lord's robe. Isn't that a wonderful belief? We want it to be our belief now.
The Lord stopped walking and said, “Who touched my clothes?” You ask. Perhaps among the many people, Jesus' feet were trampled on, his clothes rubbed against him, and some even touched his body. But it is also shocking that none of them are better. Even if this woman touched the hem of her dress, a miracle happened. This tells us of meaningless encounters and bumps. Meaningless worship and prayer do not cause any miracles.
“Who touches my clothes?” At this time, the Lord is asking us. About 2.5 billion out of 7 billion people are Christians. They pray, praise and worship. But how much life has changed. Even on this earth, 10 million Christians worship in 600,000 churches. But why doesn't change happen? Only women have the history of resolution. Did you work harder, more loyal, and serve?. But you should know that it is not.
The Lord asks us. “Who touched my clothes?” To this question, we say, “We put our hands in silence to rely only on the Lord. Because I can't see any road, I have to live, so I touch it. You alone are my healer.” I hope you will be confessed. “Daughter, your faith has saved you; go in peace. I pray that you will become believers who hear the voice of the Lord saying, “Be set free from your sickness and be well.”
