Title - On whose side is God?
Today is the anniversary of the third day. On the anniversary of the Samiljeol Day, let's think about the independence fighter Yu Gwan-sun first.
Yu Gwan-sun was born on March 26, 1904 in Jiryeong-ri, Mokcheon-myeon, Cheonan-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, the second daughter of Yoo Jung-gwon's four children. His family belonged to a scholar who had lived in Jiryeong-ri for generations, and his father believed that education was the most important way to restore national sovereignty after the annexation of Korea and Japan. At the same time, he thought that Christian faith was absolutely necessary to succeed in such a business, so he established a church with Yugi Ki and Jo In-won in his neighborhood. Since Yu Gwan-sun's childhood was brought up in such a family and background, he has a lively personality and a strong sense of sympathy from an early age, and was active in whatever he did. And she was a girl who was brave about injustice and did not spare love and sympathy for her poor neighbor.
With the introduction of Mrs. Alice H. Shap, who was a traveling missionary in Gongju and Cheonan at the time, Yu Gwan-soon transferred to Frey Miss Lulu E at Ewha Hakdang, and immediately transferred to the 3rd grade. According to the 80-year history of Ewha, "While he was studying at school, he not only took care of the difficult tasks that others could not do, but also cleaned several times that of others. It was a girl," he said. Yu Gwan-sun is engulfed in the atmosphere of the 3.1 Movement at this school. Under the direction of evangelist Park Hee-do, who was the general leader of the student movement at that time, at first, all the students prepared for national independence.
However, on March 1st, when they were about to leave the school gate, the school authorities who noticed this were discouraged, so only about 15 students, including Yu Gwan-sun, crossed the back wall of the dormitory and participated in the protest. Then, on March 5th, another demonstration for national independence took place, when students secretly participated in the school authorities.
As even students actively participated in the movement, the Japanese authorities had no other way to deal with it, so on March 10, the school was temporarily closed. In this way, Yu Gwan-sun came down to his hometown.
Yu Gwan-sun, who came down to his hometown, was surprised that he was still not participating in the national independence movement in his hometown, and soon started preparing for the movement with the cooperation of his brother and fellow villagers. The first day of the lunar calendar was held on April 1st of the lunar calendar. Then, when they climbed the mountain behind and raised the beacon on Maebong Peak, it was used as a signal to gather at the market. Finally, on March 1st, around 1:00 PM, a crowd of about 3,000 gathered. Jo In-won stood in front of the crowd, read the declaration, read Chapter 3, and sang for independence. All the crowds gathered at the marketplace sang hurrahs, followed the leader and fired at the crowds and slashed them with swords.
Seeing this, Yu Gwan-sun's father, Yoo Jung-kwon, was enraged and protested, "Why are you killing people in a peaceful way?" The savage military police smashed him down with a single sword as he protested. The clash with the military police that started in this way quickly turned the Aonae Market into a sea of blood. The deceased at this time were Yoo Jung-kwon (Yu Gwan-sun's father), Lee (Yu Gwan-sun's mother), Kim Ku-eung, Kim Sang-heon, Seo Byung-soon, Park Sang-gyu, Kim Chi-kwan, Han Sang-pil, Yoon Hee-cheo, Yoo Jung-oh, Chae, Yoon Hae-young, Lee Seong-ha, Park Byeong-ho, Shin Eul-woo, Park Yu-bok, Park Hak-hyeong , Nang Chi-sung, Park Jun-gyu, and 19 people. And at least 30 people were injured.
Yu Gwan-sun, who was arrested for national independence, was first imprisoned in the Cheonan Military Police Detention Center and suffered for 10 days before being transferred to the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Gongju Court. On May 9, 1919, he received an initial trial at the Gongju District Court, dissatisfied and prosecuted, and on June 30, he was sentenced to three years, along with Jo In-won, the instigator of the Byeongcheon demonstration. After receiving a three-year sentence, Yu Gwan-sun appealed again to the Seoul Reexamination Court. He threw a chair at the presiding judge, and said, "I will never be tried by the Japanese" or "What's wrong with getting a trial?" was sentenced to So all the other comrades went down to Gongju, but he was left alone in Seodaemun Prison.
Here he met Yoon-hee Eo, Ae-ra Kwon, and Kwan-bin Shin, Methodists who were the initiators of the Kaesong movement. On March 1, 1920, on the 1st anniversary of the March 1st Movement, another demonstration for national independence took place in the prison. Yu Gwan-sun also participated here and was subjected to severe torture several times. In the end, he could not resuscitate due to the poison he was beaten, and on October 12, 1920, he died in prison at the age of 17.
his advice
["Japan will perish. It will absolutely perish."] was. When he died, the prison secretly tried to dispose of the body. However, Ewha Hakdang principal, Miss Fryo, and Miss Walter, who later discovered this, immediately went to the prison and demanded the body. At first, seeing his ghastly figure, he refused to give it to him for fear of causing commotion, but if he did not, he said that he would inform foreign countries and appeal to the world's public opinion, but in the end, he had no choice but to surrender. So, he returned with the body, carefully prepared a shroud, put it on his torn body, and went to Jeongdong Church at dawn to quietly have a funeral, and then he was buried in the Itaewon cemetery. In this way, 17-year-old Gwan-sun Yu, a 17-year-old virgin, was able to freely sacrifice her body to the Korean independence movement.
We hope that the Almighty will be on our side for each person.
However, many people are on the side of the devil and do not know it.
Therefore, we should not be on the side of the devil in failure and death, but only on the side of the Almighty Jehovah God, who holds all the powers of success and blessing in one hand.
Then, on whose side is God?
The Bible says, ?쏱raise God! Then you will be lifted up high.??When the young shepherd David defeated the Philistine general Goliath, he exalted the name of the Lord.
?쏽ou come to me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come to you in the name of the LORD Almighty.??There is no failure or despair for those who exalt the name of Jehovah, only success and victory.
But often people try to put their name and merits first.
These people are ignored by God.
A true Christian must hide himself behind the cross of the Lord and go forward only in the name of the Lord, and the Lord of hosts will surely be with him.
Also, the Bible testifies that ?쏧f you embrace God, God will glorify you.??In Exodus 3:7, it says, ?쏷he people of Israel in Egypt cried out to the Lord in their distress, and God made a plan to save them.??God is on the side of those who believe and pray earnestly to walk with them.
Also, God is on the side of those who live a life of thanksgiving to God.
The psalmist said, ?쏥ive thanks to the LORD, who is good and his mercy endures forever.??The apostle Paul said in Colossians 2:7, ?쏶tand steadfast in the faith, abounding in thanksgiving.??A person who does not thank God, who created all things and saves us, is like an ungrateful child who forgets the grace of his parents who gave birth to him and raised him.
Jehovah is on the side of those who abound in gratitude.
It is not enough to give thanks to Jehovah with our hearts, our bodies, our material things, and all that we have.
We need not be stingy in exalting Jehovah God and praising his name.
We must not be lazy in praying earnestly.
There is no need to be inferior to others in the work of reverence and service, even in the life of gratitude.
Let's take a look again today to see if our thoughts and actions are against Jehovah God, and from now on, let's try to make sure that Jehovah is always on our side by becoming God's own people!
