Title: Why are we here? (Mt 6:33)
Content Why are we here? (Matthew 6:33) Elder Beom-il Kim (Principal of Canaan Agricultural School)
Hymn 395
Text (Matthew 6:33) Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
God called me to be a farmer, and when I first had to take over my father's work, I really hated this job. But in prayer, I learned why I had to do this. At that time, I was poor enough to die of starvation, so God commanded me to give food to the hungry.
There are five things that I have realized most importantly in my life, and the first of these is why the Lord makes us here. I need to know what the reason for my existence is. In Gangwon-do, corn is planted a lot. Farmers know from experience that planting one seed yields between 1,500 and 2,000 corn in three months. In this way, I hope that you entrust yourselves to the Lord who knows your future with certainty.
God has blessed our country, the Republic of Korea, so that no one is starving to death anymore. Some people die while on a diet, and even in the mountains of Gangwon-do, where I live, it has become a world where people do aerobics to lose weight. So what do I do now? After worrying and praying, God commanded me to go to a country where it was worse. In obedience to these words, I go to a poorer country, reclaim wasteland, and successfully fulfill the mission God has given me. I am 35 years old and I am 70 now, and if God allows me to live another 10 years, I would like to put my last passion into globalization of Canaan Farming School.
Finally, I came here to think about why so many people immigrate to the United States. Through their 1.5-year-olds and 2nd-generations, they realized that God wants them to become the protagonists of world evangelization in perfect English, and God's plan for first-generations to go on a mission to a more difficult country if they receive a pension after the age of 65. I realized that there is. I hope that you will become proud parents who fulfill God's mission to your children.
